I was harmlessly making my bed, then BAM - little bastard lands on my finger and gives me a dose of pain...

So Escapist - any tips?

I've already put on antihistamine cream, and currently have my finger in an icepack, but do you have any other ideas?

I got stung by a wasp once, right on my collarbone. It didn't hurt at all, it just itched. So, no other ideas.

I know, I've once been stung in my earlobe and it hurts. But getting hurt in live sooner or later is just part of things that keep it exiting. Just suck it up, it will subside in a while.

Not much more than that you can do, except not agitate it too much. You sound like one of the lucky ones that don't go into anaphylactic shock, so there's no serious worry.

I think Wasp venom is an alkaline, so put some acid like citric (lemon juice) or acetic (vinegar) on it to neutralise the alkali.

However, if it was a Bee that stung you then the opposite would be true. Bee venom is acidic so you would apply an alkali to neutralise the acid.

... So the best course of action when stung by either of them is to find it's opposite and get stung by it in the exact same location?

That makes sense. XD

As to the OP's question: I suggest killing the little bugger. It might not ease the pain, but it feels good to kill insects. Especially when they have bitten or stung you.

The best thing to do is catch a bee, and get it to sting you in the exact same spot. Trust me, it would work. One sting is acid, one is alkali, so they neutralise each other.

OR just quit whining, wasp stings arent so bad.
