Welcome to the church brother! Sounds like you got religion! You're a gamer, get zombies, run! Awesome tool, and the 5k starter ap is nice. Only thing I can say to watch out for is your meds. You'll get fitter, feel better and think 'I don't need this crap' and drop off it all of a sudden. This does not give a good result. Just be aware. And have fun!

Kudos! I would join you if I didn't abhor physical activity of any kind

I joined a gym late last year but now I'm quitting because I don't have enough money to pay the monthly fees. I'm going to join an archery club soon though which will be good fun and exercise.

Much is written of the neccesity for a healthy body in order to have a healthy mind. Proponents of "Muscular Christianity" assert the link between physical and spiritual well-being. Religious masculinity was often argued as a founding principle of the British Empire; the image of the Englishman striding accross continents with a bible in one hand and a rifle in the other was a popular one in Victorian England.

Not only is it a Christian, western, pheneomenon; Mao Zedong was a firm believer in the importance of physical training and would often argue for his peers to join him in taking long runs, for in his view if the Chinese were not physically fit then they would quail on the battlefield and be incapable of revolution.

Masculinity and power.

Good going friend! Keep it up.

I am exercising regularly, doing workouts, running, training martial arts and rock climbing for some time. I started doing it more frequently this winter, since I've put on some unwanted weight during holiday season, that I want to get rid off.

I do push ups every day =S Started out with 10 a day, then stepped it up to 20 - now it's 40. It's not much but it's something. I'm hoping it'll make getting into something else more demanding a little easier. I'm not sure what that something else IS yet but I think this is alright for now.

I don't know how to work running in the morning. I'd rather eat before it and shower after, but if I did eat first then I'd have to sit about and wait for it to settle. If I ate then ran immediately I'd just end up throwing up. On the other hand, if I ate after then I would be running on empty which I don't think is a great idea either. How do people actually do it?
You'll hear a lot of different things about how running before breakfast starts up your metabolism, but the truth is that it's all about preference when you work out. I usually hit the gym at around 8-9 and eat breakfast at 12 because I am the kind of person who can't eat before 10-11 in the morning anyway. However bananas are supposed to be great for right before exercise or getting something light such as yogurt might be your thing then eat a proper breakfast afterwards.

Up to 17 years old I couldn't gain a pound, I ate all kinds of junk food and fizzy drinks, snacked all day long and had extra large portions at meal time.

Then I moved out on my own and for about a year ate massive pan fulls of pasta every night, a bag of 3kg of pasta would last me just over a week.

Which lead to a big gut appearing seemingly over night, I have stretch marks on my stomach like I had a baby.

I turned 24 on the 6th and since then I have been weight lifting, not to build muscle just to burn some calories. There is almost no weight on the bar, so it's just a lot of reps.

I know that isn't going to get rid of a big gut, it's just to start building some stamina, raise my heart beat a little.
