Ok, beside what has been mentioned above, like NMH and Okami, here are some. These ones will be love-it-or-hate-it and each are a little rough around the edges, so not all of these might not be for you:

1: Madworld
2: Sin and Punishment 2
3: Muramasa the Demon Blade
4: De Blob (1 and 2)
5: Red Steel 2 (ignore the first one)

KAMI.

Red Steel 2 is also good for at least a rent, and Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are good buys.

I've actually recently discovered my wii again too. It's the only console I play now (unless DS qualifies), I'd rather have the games I'd play on XBOX 360 on PC, and the exclusives for the other consoles don't interest me enough to justify a purchase.

Metroid Prime Trilogy and Okami are the must haves of the console.

You should also get Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (It's more than just an expansion and better than other yearly rehashed games), also, if you haven't played Resident Evil 4, you should get it too, it surprisingly plays rather well with the Wiimote + Nunchuck, but it also has the option to play it with a classic controller and the good ol' Cube controller.

Those are essential for any Wii library, but then there are other great games, like No More Heroes 1 & 2 (especially 2), Goldeneye is pretty good too and IMO a thousand times better than the N64 original (belive me, I played the heck out of the original back in the day, but you know why people still regard it as awesome?, because they can't take off those nasty nostalgia glasses), also Donkey Kong Country Returns is great fun.

Also, if you're on the mood for retro action, search the Virtual Console if something strikes your fancy, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III just got released there a few months ago.

So I started giggling (yep, i'm 31 going on 6) and my wife says "what you laughing at" so I say "some bloke is playing with his wee".

Never before have I seen my wife look down at me with such pity and a glint in her that said "what the fuck did I marry".

One day i'll grow up.
Dude , i'm 22 and that was the first think that game to mind . You are not alone , but i can't make a joke about that now.

OT : no more heros , dk country returns , monster hunter tri get the classic controller pack, mario galaxy , new super mario brother ( if you got friends or a girlfriend) , metroid 3 ( but for the love of god not metroid : other M ) kirby epic yarn ( if you like relaxing games ), a boy and his blob ( grear underated game ). Theres some pretty decent wii titles and a lot of shitty ones . I think the railroad shooters ( house of the dead , dead space , resident evil )

Little King's Story.

It's amazing in every possible way. Don't let looks deceive, it's a game that I would rank right up there with Mario Galaxy 2, even.

And I dare anyone who's played the game for more than an hour to say otherwise. It's by far the most underrated game this generation, and one of the best of all platforms this gen.

Others:
Elebits
Monster Hunter Tri
Galaxy 1 and 2
Prime 3
Resident Evil: Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles
Dead Space Extraction
Muramasa
No More Heroes 1/2
NSMB Wii
Goldeneye, if you're really looking for a good shooter.
Boom Blox, if you want the best party game that's not Mario Kart or Brawl.

And of course, find some friends if you don't have any. Maybe PS3 and 360 are okay with you being a sociopath and/or spewing racist hate over the internet by yourself in a dark room all night, but the Wii isn't going to take that kind of crap from anyone. It's a really good time if you're not completely isolated from human contact. Stuff like NSMB Wii and the rail shooters are just plain better in multiplayer.

The Pikmin wii controls are pretty crap, then again that's just not my cup of tea
There's all the mario games (new super mario bros wii, galaxies etc.), Zack & Wiki is a pretty fun game ^-^
Also, get Okami

I rather liked the new Punch Out, it was a GREAT throw back for me. I had the original way back in the day with Mike Tyson on the front, so it brought back good memories, just to pick a title that hasn't been mentioned yet.

If you don't live in North America, buy Xenoblade Chronicles. It's brilliant.

If you do live in North America, import Xenoblade Chronicles. It's brilliant.

When I read the title:

"I don't need to hear about what you do with your Wii!"

When I read the OP:

"Resi 4, Monster Hunter Tri, and Okami. Resi is a bit iffy at times, but the other two are wonderful."

If you have Wii-motion Plus, Red Steel 2. It a fun, "beat 'em up" game with a reasonable story.
If you don't have Motion Plus, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Both a pretty fun. And Metroid Prime 3: Corruptions.

Get the Metroid Prime Collection, I was never a big Metroid fan but these are 3 of the best games ever made.
