Have you ever worked with someone, or been the someone, that had an "interesting" past at work? What happened? Did it cause issues?

Also, before we get started, no, I won't tell you who she is.

Anyway, my company just got a new round of hires and in there was a rather attractive young woman. This raised eyebrows, particularly with me, since women are not very well represented in my industry, particularly good looking ones. To make a long story short, I'm a man in his 20s who watches his share of porn and I'm 95% sure the new hire and a certain ex-porn actress are the same person. And this isn't based on just "Oh, they look the same!" which actually wasn't true to me at first. I didn't think they looked enough like each other, but other information(real name, birthdate[footnote]No, I didn't go mission impossible on the new hire's file. My company celebrates employee birthdays.[/footnote], physical data like height that you can pretty much eyeball, and other careers matched up perfectly. But then I'm always talking about how make-up, photoshop, and a bit of hair coloring can drastically change a person's appearance, so I shouldn't be surprised that there is a little bit of a difference. Then it was later that I found pictures of the actress that did match up pretty much perfectly. I think they were the most recent ones from the actress's career. And just to make this clear, all the information I knew about the new hire was information she volunteered when speaking to people, so I didn't go creepy or anthing. I just kept my ears open. Anyway, if their not the same person it is an incredible coincidence that I'll laugh about how dumb I was. But if it's true....

....I won't do a damn thing. I will tell no one and keep this entirely to myself. Everyone has things they want to keep to themselves and its not my place to start gabbing about it to coworkers. The funny thing is, before I knew this, I just thought of her as "Oh, the cute new girl." This actually humanized her to me considering when I read why the porn actress left the business and now any former attraction is gone and is replaced by admiration for her courage. Not that I have an issue with porn actors in the first place. I'll actually probably treat her more normal now than I would have before, not that I suspect she will stick around long since my industry had a high turn over rate and I don't think the pay is good enough to make a career out of it when you're young, and especially when you're young and attractive($13 an hour is pretty low for a career, right? Or am I wrong?). Hell, I probably won't even be here a full year before I move on. However, now I'm actually a bit worried about my co-workers. Some of them are good guys, but most are gossiping gibbons. Especially one female co-worker of ours, the only other kinda cute female, started almost immediately gossiping and talking shit about the new hire behind her back about the most inane bullshit. I can't imagine the shitstorm that will happen if the pornography thing gets out.

So, have you had any experiences like this?

You mean you actually met someone you saw naked on the internet?

What are the odds of that happening?
Probably likely nowadays with selfies and such. Its the getting paid for it and being invited to the AVNs part that makes it more unique.

Funny thing though, even though she was in porn, I have never actually whacked it to her and probably never will now. I only found out about her porn persona recently.

Actually had something simaler happen once. A girl in one of my colleges classes was rather cute and being the creep I am I googled her ne to check out her Facebook. What I found ed apparently this young lass had her account hacked . Saw a torrent file with her name and downloaded it . Yep they were nudes. Suffice to say the rest of that semester was fun for me . But seriously I debated on telling her to warn her but yeah. Moral of the story is never take nude pictures of yourself ladies

Clearly you should ask her for a blowjob and act all offended when she says "no" while loudly saying "I bet you would have done it if I'd given you $20, like the olden days."

That was a joke.

But seriously, good on you. I think that if she isn't telling anyone herself (and why the hell should she), then you have no right to tell anyone either. Don't let on that you know, don't talk to anyone, just pretend you never say anything and are completely oblivious, it's the gentlemanly thing to do.

Seriously though, you should PM me her name. I won't go all crazy stalker or anything, I promise.

So.....how far can you stick this banana down your thro....I, I can't say it she's looking right at me :p

As for myself, the closest thing I had was a supervisor at my tech support job was a MMA fighter. He wasn't big or anything (since, you know, he was working as a tech support supervisor :D) but it was pretty bad-ass when he could go outside and kick a telephone pole full force and not even flinch.

OH! My buddy is ranked in the Amateur circuit of Disc Golf (he's got a sponsor and everything!). He's hoping to break into the pro-tour this coming year. That's kind of cool...

When either she or I leave the company, I'll let you know. I'm assuming it won't be long before that happens though. There is way better pay out there for an attractive woman (or man). And I don't mean porn. Just in general, physically attractive people will have a bit of a leg up getting better jobs.

Me and my Coworkers are pretty sure that my current boss was once in a street gang in New Jersey. We also think he may have killed a man in those days, but we aren't sure. He frequently calls us brother [enter last name] and for both me and the guy before me, he called us new blood in our first month.

I don't know if you will answer this, but can you at least tell us if she was a popular pornstar?

I went to high school and sat next to a now current porn actress. She went into it pretty much right after graduation. I graduated less than 2 years ago as well. Only 3 semesters into college.

Three different people who all worked the same shift with me at this shitty dollar store all turned out to be murderers. Two are now in jail and the last was shot by the police (guess which one was black) and I still have no idea how I'm alive.

I worked with a Russian Bride when I was at Walmart, and that was pretty interesting. Learned some of the motherland's language from her, and confused the customers :3

Another co-worker of mine turned out to be a thief, who mainly stole food and stuff from the others and tried stealing from the store when she was a cashier. I learned a few odd things about holes in Walmart's security because of her, and luckily I didn't have any of my stuff stolen since I kept all of it on my person. So that was a thing.

Many porn actors/actresses are actually quite proud and open about what they do, it's a totally legit career (and worth a LOT for some). Not all are like that though, many also do find it shameful/embarrasing...only one way to find out what kind she is eh?

Too late, you already posted! You may have held back the names, but you're still gossiping about the situation.

I don't think you intended for that, you may have just wanted to share a positive story, but I think it would have been more confidential to never have mentioned the scenario at all.

No I can't say I have. However if I had, had such an experience I feel I would have done my utmost to maintain as much normalcy at the workplace as possible.

I've never been in that situation... but as I've got more respect for sex workers and porn stars than I have for salesmen and trade workers, I can safely tell you that I wouldn't react whatsoever.

The first, and best step to humanization of our fellow beings it to define them as a "person who is/has/used to be " rather than "."
Doing the later reduce them to the very stereotype of whatever you call them, as well as stigmatising them greatly while doing the former aknowledges there is a person behind whatever stereotype that society has culturally attached to a given occupation.

So tell yourself that you're working with a person who used to be a porn actress instead of telling yourself you're working with a former porn actress.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I had never really heard of her, but she worked with companies I knew about.

Wait, the mail order brides are an actual thing? I always thought those were a scam.

I figured someone was going to say this. You stretched the meaning of gossiping to the point of meaninglessness. I took care to keep everything anonymous and kept the discussion specifically about the social situation rather then spreading information wantonly. Under your idea of what constitutes gossip literally any nonfiction story ever told would be considered gossip.

That's the plan. I just hope my coworkers feel the same. I lead a mostly boring life, so that's probably why this feels unique.
