Let me tell you bro I have a 360 and as soon as I felt the shift at sony for getting better exclusive games to the PS3, I bought that shit up fast.
I mostly bought the system for Heavy Rain and The Last Gardian but here are some other good ones I played that are exclusives:
Demon's Souls
Little Big Planet
Uncharted2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Killzone 2
God of War 3
Resistance 1&2
Infamous

No matter what anyone says, don't get Metal Gear Solid 4 unless you've played all the other Metal Gear Solid games. Yes, it's fun, but you won't understand a bit of the story or get any of the references unless you've played the other games.

I would get Heavy Rain, inFamous, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet (but only if you have friends to play it with), Resistance, and Flower.
Agreed but trust me even if you played all the Metal Gear Solids you still wont understand shit. I had to download a special Metal Gear Solid encyclopedia just to understand have the shit that was going on. Get it because its fun and beautiful looking. Or if you just like stabbing needles in your foot to try understanding the story. What ever flots ur boat.

I first had a 360 and later bought a PS3. If you want some of the cross platform titles, that's obviously an easy one. Otherwise, a few good exclusives I've had the opportunity to play are:

Uncharted 2 - plays like an action movie so I found it very unique, especially compared to the 360 games I have.

Killzone - The graphics alone blew me away, but the gameplay is also very fun. It's not the same as halo or anything, but it is nice for something different.

Resistance - No regenerating health bars, so this takes it a little more old-school which was again, refreshing.

Infamous - I'll be honest, I just loved zapping people! I only played the first few missions, but if I can find one at a good price, I'm definitely picking it up because it has a special quality to it.

Folklore - I bought it used and it truly surprised me. Once you get the hang of it, it's calming, fun, and imaginative.

God of War 1 & 2 - A-MA-ZING!!! I never played these before and never knew what I was missing when I had the original xbox and gamecube. A very solid action game that looks great with the PS3 improvements.

For games and movies, I'd suggest checking out a local blockbuster and see what they have. We've been buying blu rays for our house and it's been great having movies such as Role Models, I Love you Man, and pretty much anything else. Around here (MI), they have the best prices usually.

Heavy Rain - The best game I played in my life, period. Great story and amazing climax.

Resistance - Surprisingly good FPS for a launch title. Resistance 2 was a disappointment for me bur the first game is really kickass.

Apart from that every other big exclusive people are mentioning here all the time like InFamous, Uncharted series etc.

What!? Your not!? Dammit! I just bought this dog whistle thinking it could call the moderators for nothing....

OT: Hmmm, tough position I am put in with that question, as I am an Xbox 360 owner, so I can't name any exclusives...

I do, however, own Little Big Planet for the PSP and I have loads of fun with it, so I suggest you get Little Big Planet.

I have also heard good things about Infamous. Also, the Orange Box is on the PS3, so if yout up for a treasure hunt on the Internet, I suggest looking for that.

Little Big Planet is awesome.
Also just about anything you can find on Blu-ray is awesome (first blu-ray movie I got was Avatar).
And, if you have netflix, have them send you the free ps3 streaming disc, a lot of instant netflix stuff comes in HD.

Amazon.com has really good hdmi cables that you can get without having to deal with 500% price markups (I wish I were joking).

Well, it all depends on what you're interested in. For FPSs I've heard good things about Killzone 2 and Resistance 1 & 2. There's always LittleBigPlanet which is great to just screw around with when you are bored. InFamous is great fun as well, and of course there's always a bunch games that aren't exclusives.
Kk thanks, I'm a large RPG, FPS and Indie games fan myself.
You might like Demons Souls,it's a actiony RPG that's pretty hardcore. It doesn't give you any advice on how to play and every enemy is twice as tough as you.

I do not own one myself, but that new Twisted Metal game looks freaking awesome. I'd also like to try those Resistance games, and maybe inFamous. Other than those, get all the multi-plat games you had on 360, if you really want.

I hear good things about Limbo "psn game" http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/puzzle/limbo/review.html

Im a huge fan of Metal Gear solid. Check that out, never had the 4th, but the second and third are great. You might wanna just play those first, get a hold on what its like. CHEAP CLASSICS are always a good way to go.

Everyone raves about Uncharted 2.

I have a friend who swears by ratchet and Clank.

Whenever I visit the Metal Gear Wiki I find it insane how much these people know about it. I understand the characters, not the story. I don't understand why anything is happening, but I do know what is happening for the most part.

That still doesn't mean that they're bad games, in fact MGS is one of my favorite series ever. But they'll start talking about Vamp and EVA and Shadow Moses and it's best to at least try to do a bit of research beforehand because you're going to watch a lot of very long cutscenes. In fact, I saved right after the Raging Raven boss battle, left and came back later and I literally sat for an hour without even getting to play.

I seem to be stuck in a rather awkward personal position. You see, my mother and younger brother are set for moving to the other side of the country within the month and the little *shit head is taking MY 360 and games with him. I'm stuck living with dad with potentially no gaming opportunities. This is why I've gone "Bahh!" to the 360 and am going out to purchase a PS3 within the week. My only problem is that I haven't owned a Sony product since my original PS1 and therefore need you wonderful people of the Escapist to throw suggestions of games and/or BluRay movies at me.

NOTE: And please don't simply say "get a PC". I have a laptop that does alright but isn't fit for current generation gaming.

*I love my younger bro but he needs a fitting title atm as you can probably understand.
Err, if it's your 360, he doesn't get to take it with him. Simple as that. Don't compromise, particularly if you paid for it and the games, he needs to learn some responsibility.

OT: About half of the best games for the PS3 are the same as on the 360, particularly the later ones. Games prior to about 2008 that are cross platform aren't worth it on the PS3 for the most part, but anything released in the past 2 years should be quite good. Definitely get Little Big Planet 2 when it comes out, that's practically 6 games in one.
