So I'm kind of new here what kind of music do you guys listen to?

Groove metal is my favourite right now, but metal and rock in general are awesome.

Coheed and Cambria. There is no need to listen to anything else.

But when I do listen to other music I also listen to progressive metal (Symphony X, Opeth, Mastodon, Porcupine Tree) and alternative (old Green Day, Blink 182, Angels and Airwaves, Rise Against, Billy Talent).

Disclaimer: Appearing on the list does not necessarily mean that I like the artist/duo/project/band/etc unambiguously, only that I have judged at least one of their songs to be worth listening to. Ergo you will find bands I absolutely adore mixed in with ones I mostly loathe - even groups that put out a dud 9 times out of 10 will still have released 1 decent song to accompany those duds after all.

I'm mostly into straight Rock/ Prog Rock; I can't stand modern R&B, or most hip hop. Rap I'm usually adverse to, unless it's Peanut Butter is blended with the chocolatey goodness of Punk Rock.
I grew up somewhere between the point where College Rock became Alt Rock, and Nu Metal become shit, so I've always been into the experimental sounds of guitarists like Rage's Morello, or Matt Bellamy.

I listen to alot of Clutch and Streetlight Manifesto, though I don't have alot of that on my Last.fm page. I also listen to alot of Beatles and older metal, and I don't have any of that in my Last.fm

OT: It all depends on how I'm feeling. I'd say I like everything if saying that held any value anymore.

Most of it falls into Rock/Metal/Punk and every subgenre of the above under the sun, to some degree. What bands specifically depends on the day and my mood, but I will always listen to Iron Maiden if nothing else.

Today I've listened to a lot of All That Remains and Manowar. Maybe this means I need to kill something.
