I once didn't eat for thirty hours for charity. I didn't like it, but it wasn't unbearable. But you were given lots of liquids to drink.

Definitely! If I saw them saying stuff like that and complain then I would definitely give them a reality check on what Ramadan is all about. I mean, really? Why should we not be allowed to eat when we don't follow their religion? People complain that Christians force their religion on people, but I've never been hounded the same way by Christians as I have by these two in the last 2 days.
By the way, it may look like I'm raging towards Muslims, but I'm not, it's just these two individuals that are currently pissing me off. You can practice whatever you want, I don't care. Just don't tell when I can or can't take care of my biological needs.
People are so blinded by what they are now a days they forget the meaning behind why they are doing it. It makes me sick.
Next time they do talk to me about it though, I will remind them of what you have said. Thanks for the info.
Should go camping...DesiPrinceX09 said:This actually made me laugh a bit. They must be wimps if they can't stand seeing other people eat. Why do we fast? For many reasons:GamerKT said:Why do you have to fast?
First of all, the not eating/drinking barely scratches the surface about what Ramadan is all about. This a month that is suppose to get us away from our routine lives and have us do something different, and preferably be more spiritual even if it's just for the month. It's also a reminder of the starving people around the world with a focus on appreciating everything we have. We refrain from eating to learn patience, spirituality, and basically increase our discipline. Also this is the month where the Holy Qur'an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. That's some of the explanation, I can go into more detail if you wish.
Thought so. I'll send you PM with a question or two. This topic's got me to thinking.DesiPrinceX09 said:Definitely! Please do! I would love if there was an epic meal for us during Ramadan. It would give us great ideas for what we can eat before the fast starts and after the fast ends.klasbo said:I intensely enjoy eating while in the immediate presence of muslims during ramadan.
Anyone else want an EpicMealTime ramadan edition?
No offense, but that seems really fucking stupid.DanielBrown said:Not so bad. I once didn't eat anything for 11 days just as an experiment.

Riiiiiight, because any and all belief in a higher power must be stupid, right?Lawyer105 said:This kind of nonsense is why all religions should burn in hell.
Seriously... this kind of stuff is bad for your health, impacts on your work (how many people are going to be operating at peak efficiency on disturbed sleep while sitting there starving) and, when the multiculturalist retards start screaming that nobody else around can eat because it "might offend" those who are fasting, it's time to pack this rubbish back into the stone age where it belongs.
Personally, you wouldn't catch me dead doing it (and not just because I view religion as a tool of oppression), but because I've had two kidney-stones in the past. I go through in excess of 4 litres of water a day. Not drinking (and therefore not cleaning out the kidneys) would be guaranteed to give me another one.
Find me one (non-religious) health professional that will confirm that starving yourself 18 hours a day for a month is good for your health, and I'll take it back. Until then... I'll stick to my opinion of religion.
I'm pretty sure smoking is allowed by Muslim religious law, but not drinking alcohol and probably not swearing. I'm not an expert, though.Creator002 said:I'm not even sure if they're "true" Muslims, to be honest. I've ever read the Koran (Qu'ran?), but is there something in there about smoking and swearing? From what I understand from a friend, no, no you are not.Annoying Turd said:Are you permitted to smoke during the fast?
You speak the truth good sir. There are sayings (and even Quranic verses) against smoking but not anything serious, I've known many in my faith who smoke; ever heard of a hookah? That's from the Middle east. As for swearing, the Qur'an often talks against foul languages and strongly emphasizes eloquent and polite speech but it's not exactly taboo (i curse sometimes but it's very rare). Alcohol is one of the few things that Islam teaches to stay away from.Lear said:I'm pretty sure smoking is allowed by Muslim religious law, but not drinking alcohol and probably not swearing. Yep, but otherwise smoking is not a taboo in Islam; it's just recommended not to do it for obvious reasons.CM156 said:From what I understand from a friend, no, no you are not.Annoying Turd said:Are you permitted to smoke during the fast?

I think I would spend most time sleeping, then wake up an go to the computer till it's time to eat.
Perhaps, but at least now I can relate when I see people that are starving!LuckyClover95 said:No offense, but that seems really fucking stupid.DanielBrown said:Not so bad. I once didn't eat anything for 11 days just as an experiment.
