Holy shit, that's...that's... the same price as a normal game!

What heresy is this? How dare a company try and make a profit off of something a team has been working on for years. The scoundrels and scallywags!

We ought to give them what-for! Their reign of putting prices up by insignificant amounts to anybody who actually has the capacity to earn money must end for the good of the entire world!
I'm guessing when they raise the prices to a hundred bucks you'll be the guy at the shop entrance shouting the same thing, right?
That's an awfully negative view to hold. Also, you seem to have this bizarre image of me shouting things outside of shops. I'm a person on the internet, not some strange town crier.

My point was that getting angry at them for it is stupid. It's an insignificant price rise. And when you account for the whole economic downturn thing and the fact that the FPS scene is an incredibly competitive market, it's reasonable to raise the price a little to account for such losses. If they'd raised the price to an insane level I'd probably disagree it too.

It's not like I want games to be more expensive, it's just that I don't mind one game being slightly more so. I actually think it was a stupid move to put the price up to the same as its' main competitor (people looking for a bargain will be discouraged). I just don't see why this guy's getting so mad about it.

Oh no you have to pay a little more to buy a game. You could just accept it and maybe work another hour or two to pay for it or you could go complain on a forum. I guess you made the right choice though.
Dude...

I friggin love your avatar. What is it?
(figured this was a better use for this forum then the actual...um...topic?)

People like OP really piss me off
Actually, PC Elitists piss me off more. They seem to forget that if it wasnt for consoles the gaming industry would have stayed dead in the water after Atari fucked it up for everyone. Gaming was, after Atari, considered a dead past-time until the NES stormed the castle and popularised the medium of entertainment with a cutlass between its teeth.
I rather find the term "consoletard" offensive as well. You may think you have made a generalisation there mate but you've basically just kinda ruined for all the PC gamer community as well. Ive often heard of them as being arrogant, whiney people that complain about prices and have a fucking God complex. Thats a generalisation I think sums up the OP very very well.

OT: You're trolling so hard you're gonna give yourself an aneurysm buddy. Get down off your little highhorse and pay the prices we pay. There is no reason you should get the same game for cheaper just because you use a PC

Dammit he's pissed me off. Gotta vent somehow
I cannot agree more my friend. I actually prefer consoles more because no matter what, they will be able to run a game for said console without spending a shit-load of money to update the hardware.

Wrong. After the first console game crash, the PC market was the only market that wasn't affected as much. So the situation was reversed. You are spot on with the NES though.

Actually, the normal price for a PC game is $40-50 (Dead Rising 2, War for Cybertron, Blur, Split/Second. All were $60 on console, released at $40 on PC).
PC games have ALWAYS been cheaper, exceptions being collectors editions, bundle packs or Modern Warfare 2. We don't have the licensing fees that consoles have.

Dude, we get features removed that we've had for over a decade (free user mods, new maps, new skins, dedicated servers) and then are asked to pay more for it? Quite honestly if you don't see the problem then its probably not your own money you are spending.
Also this.

Gradual change. People are less likely to oppose change if it happens gradually. Games will most likely grow in price even more and like I've said before, once we're used to 60 dollars we're going to protest the 70 dollars price tag but do nothing about it. It's inevitable.

Oh no! That means that PC gamers have to spend the same amount of money as console gamer!

well you see, console gamers are idiots who decided they were willing to flush money away while and ea are idiots since they are already realeasing between 2 huge fps juggernauts, halo and cod so one way they could have countered that is by making the effin game a normal pc price instead of trying to get on the bandwagon of "lets try and fuck with pc gamers like we do consoletards"
YOU CANNOT SPELL! How can you call people retards when you CAN'T EVEN FUCKING USE ENGLISH!?

OT: It's been said before, but it needs to be repeated. I'm not poor. I work a lot of the time, and I make a lot of expendable money because of this and my low living costs. Ten dollars is fairly easy for me to earn.
I dont care about this thead, I made it when I was pissed off and Im not pissed off anymore so I dont feel like giving a shit about it anymore so thats why I never responded to anything after my 2nd post

Really, i just thought it might have something to do with the fact that has everyone who has posted here has more or less said that your point is not only invalid (as there are many reasons for the price hike and ways of getting round it), but you trying to pass on blame to the console market and dissing its target audience is epic in its retardedness. What you have basically said is that you cant be arsed defending your point any more as you have lost the toothpick of a leg you were standing on.

Seriously though, did you not think it might be cheaper on steam? a feature i might add that consoles dont really get just yet.
