Here be new Zelda footage.

There are actual lines of dialoge spoken in a language that isn't gibberish, though it's contained to just 'Open your eyes. 'and 'Wake up Link.'

And it shows off more of the open-world, which unfortunately does look a tad empty and lifeless. It does however seem like Link can simply climb every surface now, not just trees or vines. It also seems like you have to catch your own horse from the wild, as opposed to having Epona just given to you by the narrative.

And the subtitle is Breath of the Wild, which sounds a bit off to me, but whatever.

Anyway, what do ya'll think?

We'll we've already had simply voiced lines like this, lest you forget the dreaded "LISTEN!!!"

Game looks very relaxing, I got a very Ghibli vibe out of it, with a bit of SotC.

It's those piano keys; I felt like Spirited Away was about to start up.

Well first off I really like the subtitle something about it just sounds nice. The game looks great bright and colourful, climbing things will be a fun new way to explore Hyrule field but they should really speed up the animation or something because it looked slow as in that trailer.
Maybe once you get the grapple hook. Or they could incorperate the glider, where you could use it to glide from one cliffside to the next. One thing I think that would kill the scope is by making the climbing too fast. So by using the gadgets they could maybe strike a nice balance

I think it has potential. Looks like they're going for a more relaxing slow exploration kind of experience that's broken up by big story moments and maybe/hopefully dungeons. Was kinda hoping we'd get a playable Zelda, but at this point it's safe to say it ain't happening.

I really wonder if the NX version will offer any kind of AA solutions to help clean up some of those jaggies. On one hand I think the game looks beautiful. On the other it feels terribly dated. I already have the game pre-ordered and that isn't likely to change. The biggest offender for me are the movement animations. The way animations judder and blend really make this feel like a older-generation game. Going from the stuff showed on the Sony conference to Zelda really helps makes the differences more pointed.

To be positive the game does look gorgeous. The ambiance of the world is wonderful. The character design and models are also top-tier. The UI in particular is something I think I'm going to love. I wonder how many Zelda tropes are going to be broken in this. I'm watching the live gameplay demo and there are already a number of big differences from traditional Zelda games which is also something I'm very happy about. A Link Between Worlds was my game of the year for 2013 so I have high hopes for this.

*pffrfprfffhfhfhtth* Break of the Wind! *tsssrsrrktktkkpprrrhshshhtthhsffhh*

ahem.

Hmmm... not entirely convinced yet. The environments look rather empty, bland and lifeless. The cel-shading is also a bit of a question mark for me. Maybe this video doesn't showcase the visuals in their full splendor, but from this I'm rather underwhelmed.

Been a long time since I really checked out a Zelda game, but, this one looks nice to me. That said, the REASON it's been a long time since I checked out a Zelda game is that I have damage to my hands that mean that using motion controls or handheld devices isn't possible for me. So while I'd probably love to have this game ... given it's being made by Nintendo, on the Wii U, I probably literally won't be able to play it.

Most Wii U games are compatible with the Pro Controller, including both the Zelda remasters on the system

And I do in fact own a Wii U for just that reason, and use a Pro Controller to play games like Mario Kart on it. However, Nintendo's big flagship titles tend to include a lot of motion controls and/or insisting you use the tablet controller. Skyward Sword was practically ALL motion control, from what I read about it. Given how "gimmicky" new Zeldas tend to be, I'd be very surprised if Breath of the Wild didn't use motion controls somehow (I dimly recall some kind of trailer where you motion controlled a beetle you were possessing?), and I'd be even more surprised if there were options available to turn the motion controls off.

I also can't use the tablet controller because (a) it's super heavy and awkward and (b) my hands are too small. Just, straight up, too small. I have to strain my thumbs really hard to reach all the buttons, which would make using the thing a great way to damage my hands even further. It kinda makes me want to pointedly glare at whoever designed the thing and ask if they even tested it for small hands (I mean, come on, they market to kids!), and it makes me lament when a great game like Splatoon comes out that won't let you play AT ALL without using the tablet controller. (I wanted Splatoon, but their insistence on that controller forced me to give it a pass.)

Even their Pro Controllers aren't well designed; I have a third party Wii U controller for games that require all four face buttons, because I can't QUITE reach the lowest in the little quadrangle (I think A?) on the first party version. With Nintendo's controllers I'm always swapping out one for another over different games to pick and choose which controller flaw I can tolerate for that particular game.

That said, thanks for the heads-up about the Pro Controller; if I hadn't known, I would've loved to have found out! :)

Thats ok, I totally see where you are coming from with all of this and yes Skyward Swords combat was 100% motion controlled. If its not your thing or in your case you are unable to do it then you basically miss out on the game.

I'm hoping( and its a big hope) that the new Zelda does what Twilight Princess has done and makes it so that you can switch off all the motion controls, I know its the first thing I did when starting a new game.

It just looks fun. I've been watching the Treehouse stream for the past little bit, and there's so much to do and explore. You can play it however you want. Stealth or action, survival, hunting, etc. I'm really digging this. The clean look, the dynamic music, enemies, environment, and so on.

Wow, it looks really good. The combat still looks fun, and I think all the survival elements will be fun. I wonder how many towns there will be, it is interesting that they didn't show any.

The art style is nice as well, sort of a balance between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

I think the environment looks great, I don't understand the feeling of it being empty. It makes it feel more natural, and that is something SoTC did really well. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of SoTC, which makes me excited.

Finally a Zelda where you can climb and jump!

I've never been a Zelda fan, I could never understand what people saw in the franchise to dedicate such rabid loyalty. And after seeing the Wii U trailer, I still don't. I don't like Zelda games and I frankly don't think I ever will.

But to those of you who are fans, I am stoked for you guys. I'm glad that you are finally getting a new HD Zelda game, for a console on the way out. I wonder if they will announce an NX version too, so those of you who ever bought a Wii U, still wont have to.

It has been confirmed that you can play this on a Pro Controller so Gyro controls should be able to turn off. (Though I'm not sure you have gyro controls tbh).
