Not that I think anyone can "Win" E3, but for me I found myself rolling my eyes at Nintendos offering simply because it feels like, once again, they trot out the same IP over and over to the point I'm surprised anyone gets excited at an announcement.

New Zelda? Check!
New Smash Bros? Check!
New Mario property platformer? Check!

In fact I thought the Mario Construction Kit was released to save Nintendo actually turning up in person at the next E3.

But flippancy aside, this E3 was fine all round for which ever platform is your favourite. Each company wheeled out something to please that platforms fanbase, be it Halo for Xbox or Uncharted for PS4. EA chucked out sports reskin 2014 and teased games that probably won't actually be finished in time for next E3 let alone this one.

So in the end I don't think anyone "won" E3 but it wasn't a complete shambles for anyone unlike last years Xbox presentation.
And Nintendo has never stopped making announcements. As for new Nintendo IPs, Splatoon, Project Guard, Project Giant Robot, and Project S.T.E.A.M. have been announced. Fantasy Life, 2 Harvest Moons, Devil's Third, and a ton of indie games for third party. Why are we even pretending that Nintendo had no new IPs. They had the same amount of new IPs compared to the other conferences.
so basically it was like every other press conference?

The PS4 and Xbone got maybe...15 worthwhile games announced between them. Nintendo announced AT LEAST 15 major games on their own, and I know I'm forgetting at least a few of them. And those aren't counting the hordes of more minor games they announced.
*head explosion*

Dunno what happened to Nintendo between the last E3 and this one, but DAMN. They need to keep that shit up.
i'd like to know what these amazing Nintendo Games are. Cause all the only game I really want from Nintendo is Hyrule Warriors. Maybe Bayonetta 2.
You mean like trailers, teasers, and games shown? Yeah, I'd say it is. But I found Nintendo's Digital Event much more entertaining to watch compared to the press conferences of the others (especially EA's though Sony did make a close second to me). However, I just found Nintendo's treehouse to be much more enjoyable to watch gameplay demos compared to the other game site's game in-depth looks outside the press conference. Hell, it's perhaps the first time I've actually cared about the other days of E3.

Furthermore, you know that people can like different things, right? As for amazing games, I think the original poster you replied to just listed off every game he saw at the various Nintendo E3 things but since that is close to mine...

Super Smash Bros.
Yarn Yoshi (It really looks like a second Yoshi's Story)
Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker
Legend of Zelda Wii U
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire / Omega Ruby
Bayonetta 1+2
Hyrule Warriors
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (cuteness seemed to be a major theme of Nitnendo's E3)
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Splatoon
Fantasy Life
Project STEAM

These are the ones I'm excited for. Others include a new Fossil Fighters, a bunch of indie titles that were showcased during the Nintendo Treehouse Direct, Mario Maker, and a bunch of Japanese third party games for the 3DS.

Don't they announce the same things every year? "We'll have a new Mario, Kirby and Zelda game this year... and the next year... and the next year... and the next year too, because we're just that bold...". An endless cycle of the same games over and over and over. What's the big news here, Bayonetta's getting a sequel and they're making a shooter?
It's less about what was shown and more about how they showed it. Gameplay was emphasized in almost every game shown at the digital event (exception being Zelda Wii U). Even after the DE, Nintendo held 15-30 minute segments showing gameplay form many games coming out both this year and next on Wii U and 3DS that included games not shown in the Digital Event itself as well as third party and indie games. It was presentation that really sold (imo) Nintendo to me this E3.

Besides, isn't saying "X made sequels to A, B, and C and therefore it is dull" kind of true for all conferences at E3? Yes, a lot of Nintendo's games weren't new IPs (though they were there), but other companies are relying on Nostalgia for their games as well. Assassin's Creed, Halo, EA Sports, Metal Gear Solid, Star Wars Battlefront, Forza, Tomb Raider, Fable, Call of Duty, Battlefront, Tom Clancy, Little Big Planet, The Last of Us, Far Cry and others were sequels to long established franchises as well. In fact, asides from indie games, Sony and Microsoft had little to show in exclusive new IPs and even then only 1 or 2 were shown with any meat behind it.

I wasnt aware anyone dropped the ball? I got new info on games I was curious about, and some new titles to be curious about.

But sure. Lets say that you liked a a bunch of titles, and didnt like a bunch of other titles, and thats because someone else fucked up, rather than your personal preferences.
I requested debate, not sarcasm. If you feel I was wrong, then by all means persuade me towards your point of view.
Well, I dont know who won. Everyone had some interesting things to show.

Im just saying, nobody dropped the ball just because you didnt like the offerings of some, or liked other offerings more. So there isnt a debate to be had. Everyone was a winner.
This. I don't think anyone had a bad conference. There were a lot of games from everyone. I can't believe I'm going to say this about an E3 but I really do think that the real winners were the fans, regardless of which platform(s) they've attached themselves to.

Best E3 in a long time.

No, they didn't. Nobody won E3, nobody lost E3, everyone had their own thing going for them. E3 isn't a competition.

yes I do know that people can like diffrent things, wich is why I didn't insdaukt anyone for likeing them.

As for them being the same I wasn't able to watch any of the Confrences/events cause I was at work all day. So all I have to go off on (and all I really care about) are what games where shown and did I like any of them. And there where only 3 that I really liked, one for each system. So in that sense they where all the same.

You should probably reevaluate your life.
Why, because he has an opinion?
Because if you've outgrown Nintendo, you may be dead inside.

As nice as that would be, it's simply not true.
E3 is a very real competition with the favor and interest of gamers as the prize.

not my fault if I don't like any of their games. Also I find it hard to out grow Nintendo when I never really played any of their games.

I like how people STILL say Nintendo rehashes, when they revealed four new IPs. Splatoon, Project STEAM, Project Guard, and Project Robot are all new IPs. They even revealed a new Star Fox, which people have been wanting for years.

And they HAVE made new IPs in the past couple of years. What about Pushmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, and Rusty's Real Deal Baseball? I guess those don't count because they're Eshop titles.

They don't count because they're Nintendo.

Honestly, I'd say all of the big 3 have done the rehashing game for a long time. Nintendo's just the best at making their rehashing good. But they also did a good job with revealing some new IPs this E3, and they generated the most excitement for me. The only thing that comes close to that from another conference is Bloodborne.

I don't hear a lot of disagreement on this one. Bayonetta, Xenoblade X, Yoshi's Yarn Thing, Kirby, Cap'n Toad, Smash Bros., new Zelda, new kind-of-Zelda, that squiddy thing that looks pretty cool - basically everything was a huge plus. Sony and Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one, and it seemed Nintendo took advantage of it all.

That said, I've been wrong before. If this is another case of fanboyism clouding my judgment, I'd like to know. Because otherwise, I'm just going to go ahead and say Nintendo won E3.
The only way to win E3 is to not go. In that respect, yes, Nintendo wond E3.

Revealing a few new IP's doesn't mean they don't rehash their other series frequently. Mario and Zelda were stagnant for years. Might still be, but I honestly stopped caring a long time ago now. When it comes to those staple franchises, they mostly ran out of ideas shortly after the N64 was released.

Well the matter of winning E3 is a matter of opinion, to each their own, though I'm surprised to see so many people are saying Nintendo won E3. Now I'm a huge Nintendo fan, if I wanted to last gen I could have easily just had a Wii as my only console and have little regret (lack of Eternal Sonata, Asura's Wrath, Dead or Alive series, and BlazBlue series would be the only games I'd truly miss).

An Nintendo's E3 this year, it was great, but not what I'd call amazing. If I were to include the various announcements and events that Nintendo had outside of their digital event, like the Super Smash Bros Invitational, then I'd say their E3 was amazing. Even then though, I still wouldn't say they won E3.

To me, Nintendo were 2nd place. As for Sony, I've yet to watch their conference but I've had little interest in their announcements (other than Little Big Planet 2) and given the information I've heard of their announcements and the conference itself, place them as 3rd. Microsoft on the otherhand I feel were the winners of E3.

They said they were to focus on just games and they did. The more serious tones of their first announcements such as the new Call of Duty and Forza were nicely balanced by later footage of Sunset Overdrive and Fable Legends. They showcased a great variety of games, they presented everything clearly, and all in all it was just really impressive. I loved seeing more of Fable Legends, Sunset Overdrive and Ori of the Blind Forest really interest me, and I'm intrigued by Project Spark, Scalebound, and Phantom Dust. In fact, that was something I loved seeing, Microsoft reviving an old IP of theirs. I love seeing old IPs revived, yet Nintendo didn't do so this E3, nor did Sony, it was Microsoft who did! Finally, the Halo: Master Chief collection looks to be jam-packed with content and overall just fun, I don't even play Halo but I was really impressed with it all.

Of course, as said, it is all just a matter of opinion in the end. For me, while they all had great announcements, it was Sony 3rd, Nintendo 2nd, and Microsoft 1st.

That's pretty much it. Then when you point out that in the past console generation a lot of franchises had 4 or more main games they dismiss it. Then when you say that pretty much most new IPs this generation have been first or third person shooters they say "At least they're different characters!"

Well i got to say now WiiU have whole 3 games i'm interested in. Bayonetta 2 , X and Zelda. Still not enough though, i need at least 6 to justify purchase. 3DS had 6 games and now i own vita and 3ds, sadly i don't see any promising WiiU games in future apart for already mentioned 3. As for winners of E3, Sony won hands down imo.

Where do people keep getting 'announced another Mario' from? They had a couple spinoffs, with completely different gameplay, but they explicitly stated there would NOT be a new Mario game. Do you mean the level editor thing? Is that the new Mario you seem to have willed out of thin air?
The Mario Maker side-scroller platform game creating application developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U video game console and scheduled for release in 2015 is exactly the game I just willed out of thin air, yes.
You can't count that. It's a fun little extra, probably not ever full price. That would be like if I handed you a pen, and you said, "Stop writing so many letters!"

To tell the truth, I'm not even sure how to argue this. Surely it's self-evident that it is not, in fact, a full game?

I have to side with Ieyke here. If you never liked Nintendo, that's a personal preference. If you 'grew out' of Nintendo, that's a tragedy.
