I still don't care. Normal flu still infects and kills far more people than swine flu. The only difference is that swine flu kills normal, healthy people, regular flu goes for the weak and weary. I understand that it's not something to ignore, especially in high populated area's I understand that it's important to act accordingly. Luckily for me, I don't live in such an area, so I have the luxury of not caring. I understand why some others do not have that luxury.
Only kills normal, healthy people in countries with shitty health care.
Should there be panic? Hell no. It really isn't that bad. We shouldn't be complacent either. There is are treatments you can get now so we (the lucky countries) should be providing those treatments as aid to countries without it.

I thought the W.H.O did that to try and get more attention than the C.D.C which seems to be taken more seriously, and less jumpy.

Maybe I can use this whole end of the world thing to get a girl. Hmmmmm ...
Anyways, I thought this happened about a month ago. To be perfectly honest, I'm more worried about the fact I just dropped my phone.

Has Madagascar closed its boarders yet?

I'm ill atm and my Mum is paranoid I have it ^^
I hate President Madagascar he is one paranoid bastard.

I still don't care though this virus is less lethal then a regular strain of the flu which makes me give fuck all about it.

I think its a bit misleading to label it a pandemic.

The Numbers for the infected are relatively high (though lower than the normal flu), but honestly the death toll and severity of the disease itself isn't something that should cause panic... Its just gives the media an excuse to fear monger and distract the masses from important things happening in the world.

Well, look at it this way: there's nothing we can do except the normal things one does to combat the flu, ie cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing, drink lots of water, stay in bed when you're sick, etc. If this is a horrible super sickness that's going to take over the world and kill everyone, well, then it's unavoidable and we may as well not worry about it. Most of the world can't do anything about it so we may as well live it up while we can. There's no use worrying if we can't change it.
Yes. This is pretty much the gist of it. Although, those people spending money trying to win are just wasting their time.

I thought the swine flu was long forgotten. But to be truthful i don't care (no offense to anyone). With the recession going on we don't need anything else to worry about. I didn't even realise that it was still going on...... But like all diseases that plague the world it will eventually go away like the bird flu... But all I have to go by is blind hope....

Everyone is over-exagerating it. I still don't even know the symptons of the flu. I'm not implying that we just forget all about it but we shouldn't start a world-wide panic! If we did we wouldn't do anything but cause irrational panic. we don't even know what the cause was.

If anyone can correct me or provide an explanation, please do. :/

Best thing about the swine flu was when I saw a writing on the wall of a safe house in L4D that said "It all started with the swine flu!"

That cracked me up like hell.

Other than that, hell I don't care. It was fear mongers in the 24 hours news cycle that got out of hand.

I don't really care about swine flu even if it has been confirmed in a town 7 miles away from where I live. That may seem like a long way, but in reality it's a small town where people don't have many shops, so they come to my town to do so, therefore bringing swine flu with them.

The reason people get this flu live in a country where the streets are covered in shit. The only reason you should get it and die in this country is if your a health freak and have never caught a flu before, or if you live on the streets.

Until the swine flu become a disease that's actually on some level dangerous, I don't care. Grayjack72 was correct in pointing out that normal influenza kills over 30,000 Americans a year.

A total of around 30,000 cases all over the world? WE'RE SO BONED.

Why is it called swine flu, again? It's not even caught from pigs. We catch it from other humans.
