So, there was a shooting at the school I flunked out of.

Someone got repeatedly punched in the face once for saying shit about some guy's girlfriend. That's about it.

Wow man, thats scary stuff...

The worst thing that happens in my college is people pissing on the toilet seats... there was that one time one of the toilets was splat painted a shit/brown colour , but that was more funny then gross.

I will know now not to complain about little things.

At my school, a first year got his head smacked into a wall because he's a massive twat who starts fights with pretty much everyone, despite them all being about a foot and a half taller than him.
And my friends kicked some other guy in for pulling a knife on their friend.
And the industrial estate across the road caught fire.

At my university, we used to get shootings at an annual end-of-the-year "music" festival (read: drinking festival) at a pretty regular basis, since lots of local idiots from the shitty city my college is in would come around, get drunk, and a few would pull out guns...

The festival was canceled indefinitely since last year, when I think three shootings were reported in the same day.

I actually worked with the "possible" murder, Travis, in Sept/Oct. He was a pretty cool guy then, but had to quit to take care of his mom who has cancer.

Needless to say, the news shocked me.
Seriously? Maaaaan.

Keep in mind, we still don't that he did it. He may have witnessed and fled in panic.

Some dude brought a gun on campus and got into an argument with another guy. Dude apparently shot the ground, and the bullet ricocheted and grazed his own hand. Lockdown, police response, wacky fun.

Well... yeah. At first I was hoping that maybe there was a 3rd party and they kidnapped him or something, but I mean, he's the only suspect and there's obviously video surveillance. Doesn't look good.

I can't imagine him doing something like this though, something pretty intense must have happened and he just lost it. Apparently he had an argument with his mom the night before, so the news says... *shrug*

I just really want to know the full story, it's really messed up. At work yesterday it's all anyone could talk about. Homicide detectives even showed up to question a few people about him.

....

My brother goes to that school. Though he's out for the summer he comes there occasionally to hang out.

Thank GOD he didn't go that time.

I wouldn't know what to do if I lost him.

Man. The U of A is going to SERIOUSLY have to amp up the security now; not only will prospective students get scared away, the hub mall will see decrease in traffic due to this.

CAPTCHA: "pipe down"

FUCK NO I WON'T, this is serious. I'm going to this school in the future.

Wow, your university has a mall? That's really cool.
It's mostly food outlets, we are students after all. :p Although there is a watch center, a barber shop, a couple supply shops and research centers.

If it makes you feel better, the people shot were the people refilling an ATM.

And the HUB Mall will NEVER see less traffic, it's a long and convenient artery between the arts/law buildings and pretty much everywhere else. Between classes, there's easily a couple thousand people going through. We're not walking outside beside it either, because we're in Edmonton, the snow city.

If anything, that makes it scarier... D:

You work at G4S? That's freaking insane.

(To others: G4S is the security company who's people got shot and who the only current suspect worked for.)

Well, I got stabbed in the leg in the suburb near my old school.

Someone was threatened by a knife at my school, and I was in the worst possible place to witness such an incident from.

On the sharp side of said knife.
Apparently since my year left, according to my cousin one of the new year 11s keeps going around threatening to stab people. A guy I vaguely know, too. Personally, I hope he comes to my A level college (which is more likely than you'd think) so I can smack him up a bit. Should be worth a laugh or two :D

No, no, I work at his previous place of employment. He left the place I work around Oct/Nov to take care of his mom (needed too much time off). The news says he started at G4S in April, but I didn't talk to him again after he left my work.

Still... you worked with the suspect. My mind is still exploded.

I remember one time in high school I left one of my classes quickly so I could go to my locker and get a book that I would need for studying, it was the last class of the day and I didn't feel like fighting people to get to my locker. My school has a lot of outside areas and courtyard in the middle, and certain buildings are for certain things, and my locker was in one of them and not near the class I was walking from.

So just as I closed my locker and was walking back to class there was an announcement that the school was on lock down and this wasn't a drill, and I was stuck outside and I didn't run into any security guards, I have no idea where they were. So I got back to my class and I was knocking on the door to be let back in, it took a while and a scolding from the teacher.

The thing was all the doors to the buildings were locked, I guess I got lucky with that one, so I couldn't be let back in anywhere. Apparently some guy came on campus with a gun and was going to kill himself there, for some reason, and it wasn't far from where my class was.

Good times.

Right so, I'm in year 10. Our school is next to what is possibly the busiest road in town, and to ensure our safety the council built a mini bridge thing for anyone and everyone to walk over. Our school is full of show-off jerk wads, however, especially in our year,(but still, they're 15, they should know -.-) and about 7 people have been run over since January, most in stable condition with a few broken bones and whatnot, and in hospital for like a day, but some with major, major problems leading off of this. The school should probably do something about that.

I won't bother mentioning the usual secondary school mishaps, but the worst news I have so far from my university is this:

See the roof?
Well it's made of layers. Despite costing the welsh assembly £35 million, it was built with the assumption that Wales doesn't have any wind.

It's 2 years old and twice now its roof has partially blown off, scattering material all over the roads in and around the city centre behind it.

At the other campus a student was found dead in the river, so yeah.

- Cardiff Uni on the other hand has had a suicide this year and Glamorgan has had a sexual assault the other year. They're both good uni's though, I think every uni has its fair share of unfortunate events. I'm unaware of anything else happening at my Uni.

After i'd left the school one of my teachers was arrested for having child porn on his laptop.

It's quite heavily rumored that some students set him up though and he never seemed like the sort when I was there so I'm not so sure he was guilty.

I think the worse thing to have ever happened to a school I left was a few liver problems due to drinking.
Students.
Honestly, I'm glad I left, since passing semesters was all about having elder peers handing you their work, and having elder peers was all about drinking with them. Imagine doing that for 5 years.

No shooting, no raping, just another brand of human stupidity.
