Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the first news story covered by one Philip Defranco this morning...

So basically theres this girl on Twitter named hannah (You can find her by searching "Poison Ivy Hannah") that seemingly has... these... I won't say weird, I'll say disturbing femdom like relationships with dudes. It all appears consenual by definition, after all it's all over internet/Skype.

But these guys are writing her name on their forehead. This one guy is crying because he TWEETED at a another girl... Then she made this other one shave his head and eyebrows off.

Now I'm not gonna judge others for what get their jollies off. It's a whole big world out there, ya know? But what I find disturbing is... from what little I know about this kind of relationship (having never experienced it first hand myself) is that when you're opening yourself up to get willfully get hurt by another person for pleasure theres like... Huge lines and boundaries the dom has to respect, and I think theres even some sort of expectation that after the fact the Dom has to ease the sub back into reality?

Cause it's like... regardless of if it's fantasy or not, or if it's desired behavior.... it's still abuse. If it's done incorrectly it can't seriously fuck with people.

Couple this with this girl tweeting about the romantic implications of Suicide.... kinda fucked no?

What ahhhh, what is your take on this Escapist? I went ahead and browsed her Twitter account and it's... Kinda disturbing. I'm getting a huge predatory vibe off this chick.

I think that domination fetishes are unhealthy, though natural. They're pretty much on par with rape fantasies as far as I am concerned.

I honestly question the moral integrity of anyone who takes the position of dom, causing suffering to someone should not be normalized under any case. Things can turn sour too quickly, damage to the sub can be permanent, and in the case of paid doms like the one in the OP, I think it's often a case of people exploiting psychologically unwell individuals for monetary profit, and sometimes for shits and giggles.

I'm all for tolerance of all sexual behaviours and free sexuality, but anything that opens the door for physical or psychological abuse is a big no-no for me.

From her profile description: "I treat all men like shit because they are weak and they deserve it. I bully the weak to make them weaker as I simultaneously grow stronger."

Heehee!

Anyway, I find her to be ridiculous, kind of funny actually. Like a porn star who goes all the way even though she knows how shit she is at acting. The article that the video cites has these pictures of an alleged conversation with "Hannah", and it reads like your everyday BDSM porno script.

I find that it's her followers (not all of them, most of them seem to be joking) who are creepy, and even then I'm not sure if they are real.

Eh.
Weird doms are a thing I knew existed. I guess she's getting a spotlight because she's being weird to men on the internet.

I mean, yeah, it's kinda weird and fucked up, but as long as it's all consensual I'm not gonna judge a situation I barely know anything about.

I suspect that this will blow up in her face because right now she's just enjoying that some lonely people will do silly or stupid things to get her to pay attention to them. Is she making money off of this?

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to say "...blow up in her face, or she'll get bored with it..."

Who's Philip Defranco, why do I care, and why does he care about some femdom on twitter?

I will never understand idiots making YouTube videos about other idiots. It's like reaction videos combined with voyuerism.

He doesn't only talk about "other idiots". He talks about international news, celebrity news, movie news, video game news, internet news, etc.

Neat, but not really answering the third question. Didn't mean to imply it was all he does, because I don't know, and largely don't care.

hes like the Jon Stewart of YouTube.

As for why you should care.... I mean I'm sharing it cause it's fucked up. It's like finding out in the future from Doc Brown that your kids grow up to be Hitler 2. So you get in the car and go into the future just to see all the damaged they caused and then come back cause theres nothing you can do about it.

...Well I suppose you could get an abortion... Is Doc Brown an actual doctor? Give him a coat hanger and tell him to get to work.

So long as everyone participating is a consenting adult and not hurting themselves, there's nothing wrong with it. It's distasteful, creepy, and weird, but then again so are most BDSM kinks. I mean, there are videos on the Internet where a fully clothed lady pretends to be your mother while lambasting you for having a small penis. This is mild in comparison.

I'd be concerned if there was any indication she asked her "clients" to hurt themselves or do something illegal. But so long as it stays at the level of shaving your eyebrows off, it's harmless.

Someone's going to turn this into a gender war thing, though, because of course they will.

He is this guy. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_DeFranco] He appears to be quite successful, by the standards of Youtube critics. I mean, he's not some rando.

I'd never heard of him before today either, so you can be forgiven for going "da fuq?"

People are just going to choose to do some things that seems strange.

If everyone is a consenting adult and all, shouldn't be an issue. Mind you, all sorts of arguments about the nature of consent.

My mantra when encountering details of other people's sex lives that make me uncomfortable is, "So long as it's between consenting adults then it's none of my business."

This seems as good a place as any to apply it.

Also, I despise Youtube gossip channels almost as much as I despise reaction videos.

... if Jon Stewart went after random people I guess.

Which is the part I don't get. It'd be like going after a random individual on Tumblr who's a bit more unhinged than normal. What's the point? If it started to be a trend or something, sure. I could even get why if said person had some sort of other notoriety. But all we've got is a random person with a now-deactivated twitter. I'm sure she appreciated the attention sudden attention from potentially millions.

No no. you're confusing him with guys like Keemstar and Scarce, they're the ones who do that kind of TMZ psuedo celebrity bullshit.

PhillyD covers news. He's not covering this because he's up and arms about it and just found out about it (like I'm doing) he's covering it because "This is what the internet is up in arms about" It's a watch this and get a pulse of what the community cares about type deal. He reports on fluff like this all the way to hard news like whats going on with the elections.

Were as say, Keemstar is exactly what you're describing... eh, it's stupid but Youtube has been this fun little wormhole I've stumbled down in lately, and it's a very interesting microcosm.

Is the internet "up in arms", though? This is the first I've heard of it and apparently her twitter is deactivated?

I mean, I'm just going off of the thread, though, because I'm not watching an 11 minute video of someone moaning about a twitter account.

I don't really watch his videos much but from what I've seen the headline story usually takes up 3-5 minutes at most and he talks about other stuff. Hes closer to a human newsfeed and not really internet paparazzi.

There are about 3 people who are pissed, so yes, the internet is indeed up in arms.

Seriously though, a lot of people hate this chick and ever since that article went up, people have been sending hate her way, as you can see from literally one glance at her Twitter fee. I wouldn't say this is even quarter of a Gamergate, but there are a fair number of people who are interested/creeped out/pissed off/entertained with this.

After that one Daily Mail article, everyone is hopping onto the bandwagon. Heck, Twitter suspended her account just three hours ago.
