So when you dream you sometimes have dreams where you know your dreaming right?
The thing that kept me up was, when you know you are dreaming could you lets say.....control the dream and manipulate it? Kind of giving you a Godly power over everything.

Yes. They have even amde a device that allows you to learn to manipulate dreams. Also, you remember only about 1 in a million dreams, so keeping a dream journal sometimes have been known to help manipulate dreams.

Yeah, it's called "lucid dreaming" in the psych circles, and it's cool when it happens; something like the ultimate sandbox game in a way.

The ones I hate are the nightmares where you wake up, see something that suggests that the nightmare actually happened, and then you really wake up. I don't need existential crises before my first cup of coffee, thank you...

Well, as soon as I realise I'm dreaming I wake up, so I've never had a chance to test it. Anyway, I'm usually naked in a public place, or being hunted by moose men, so I'm too busy to try.

When I was a tiny child, I had a dream that I was an old, old woman sitting in a chair on my front porch. I had been sick for a while and I could feel my heart dying, so I thought, just before I go, I'll run chronologically though all my memories of life, seeking perhaps to cheat death by living life again a second time, in a way. I sank back in my chair, closed my eyes...

... and woke up. This is how you traumatize yourself.

Anyway, lucid dreams are awesome. I've figured out my own personal trick to them: try to fly. I've embedded that idea so far into my subconscious that most of the time, when I dream, I'll at least attempt it - and as soon as I leave the ground I know I'm dreaming, and I can go anywhere.

If you mean control what's happening in your dream, I tried that once. I was dreaming I was in my school's playground and I was talking to my teacher, and I said I was going to fly, then my teacher laughed at me and I woke up... -_-''

True story.

It's impossible I can't think of how the fuck to do it...

One of the best dreams I've had of this kind featured my best friend and I walking on a small path through a dense forest. He was walking behind me, and ever so often, I'd turn around and say "Watch this," before snapping my fingers.

Every time I snapped my fingers, the season would change, from the most verdant summer to the most beautiful, thickly snowing winter. The colours would pop really vibrantly, like in an oil painting. It was amazing. I had that dream only once but I think I'll remember it forever.

Then there's also the dreams that I have repeatedly, where I climb to the highest building only to leap off only to land unharmed hundreds of feet below...

I hate it when you have an awesome dream, that you are controlling almost. Then you think hey wait a minute...then you wake up and are like "SHIT!"

Yeah, it's called lucid dreaming. I've done it a few times. You have to be conscious that you're dreaming for it to work.

I don't think I've experienced that, but I do have the dreams where you trip or fall down from something and your body convulses, making it seem like you just landed in your bed. I hate them >_< they always freak me out.

I've had lucid dreams before. Its quite the memorable experience. Supposedly, you can train yourself to better control them.

I occasionally toy with the dream manifestations of people I know, but most of them are pretty boring. I pretty much just run/fly through forests during those sorts of dreams. I know I could do more, but it just feels soooo good to be free like that. I wonder what that says about me...

You know what? I have had dreams like this, but they always end up with something terrible happening. For example a car t-boning my mums as she pulls into picking me up and her car rolls right into the house killing my best freind. Or that one where I walking to a video game store and all hell broke loose..

EDIT: I have had many, many more where a dream builds on another dream that I still remember. I am seriously screwed up.
