And, is it just me, or do you look forward to your birthday less and less as you grow up? When I was younger I used to love waiting for my birthday, and was always excited the night before. But now it's just another day, that happened to be the date I was born. I even forgot it was my birthday a few times :/

So yeah I guess it's just a part of growing up? :/

Oh and cake

Duuuuude, Spider-Man cake? Gimme some!

Birthdays become less important the more financially independant you become.

When I was 14, I needed my birthday and Christmas money in order to buy new games.

Now? Not so much :D

Also, Happy Birthday!

You are one year closer to death!

Yeah I've become a fairly major pain in the arse on birthdays because I've already bought myself everything that I wanted. However I still look forward to my birthdays cause I always book the week off work for it so I can have a few days chillin'

Actually my birthday is in a month, I should probably think of something I can ask for.

Maybe a world war one pilots helmet and goggles.

Happy Birthday! As for dreading Birthdays I haven't hit that point yet. That varies from person to person. I for one don't mind getting a little older, a little wiser (in theory anyway) and a little closer to my goals.

Now to make a thread and pack up for my trip to the lake. Enjoy the day and your cake!

My birthday was the tenth, and to be honest, it was just yet another day. Nothing special about birthdays when you can't afford to celebrate them :/

I haven't looked forward to my birthday in years. It's just another reminder of the hard times my family's fallen on.

Happy Birthday... that kinda contrasts with what I'm about to say...

OT: It's just another day really. Some of my friends have parties still but I cannot be arsed arranging one for a day that celebrates something that happens to everyone. It's not that important. I don't know really. My birthday's in a few weeks and I've forgotten a couple of times already. Actually I go out of my way to make sure people don't know when my birthday is till after my birthday.

Personally it still matters. Not as much as it once did. I suppose as you get more and more responsibilities, there's less time to make such a day special.

Happy birthday, anyways.

Agreed but in saying so my Birthday were never special to begin with (just my family say happy birthday, get my present and cake). For once I would love to have a proper birthday and more member of my family come over or something.

Oh and Happy Birthday!!!

Birthdays don't matter to me anymore. I see it as just an other reason to go to a nearby pub and grab some beers with friends. Only difference is I get a few free pints out of it.

I'm only 16 and I've started to look forward to Birthdays and Christmases a lot less.

I don't even say what I want for them now. =/

Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to my birthdays as well. It gives me a good excuse to get some friends together and doing something though, but it's not as exciting as it used to be.

EDIT: I just realized how well this post fits with my avatar.

Yeah, I haven't really given a shit about birthdays since I was 13/14 or so. Getting money is nice, but I really don't like being the centre of attention. >.< So I've avoided having any kind of party since then, insisted to friends that they really don't have to do anything or get me anything (luckily most of them didn't know when it was/forgot anyhow :3) and generally have held an attitude of indifference to whole thing and just carried on as I would any other day.

Oh and Happy Birthday by the way.

Turning 18 in 13 days, I still look forward to birthdays, just not so much. Presents are less of a surprise and more things that I specify wanting. (For example, money for my bitchin' new computer)
Gonna get a couple people round the house on the day, probably have a barbeque or something, just relax and have fun.

Captca: whoopee cushion
Think I got one of those on like... my 14th.

OT: Yeah i really dont advertise it anymore, but i still expect people (family/close friends) to remember and maybe do something about it.
