Yes. YES. YES! Do it! This is what mankind has been building up to!
It's waaaay too stupid to not be glorious.

You should give it a go, the director's clinical depression gets worse and worse as the episodes go and that combined with some specific real world events (budget ran out too soon, for instance) resulted in an ever morphing show which is quite interesting to experience. Juuuust don't marathon it, I made that mistake and was in a very dark mood for a good week afterwards, it gets really heavy later on and End of Evangelion just full on mind fucks you from beginning till end. Which I guess makes sense because the whole movie was basically a middle finger to everyone who hated the original endingSean Hollyman said:I might skip it then. I'm watching more mech shows since Gurren Lagann, I just started Captain Earth and it was awesome.Johnny Novgorod said:I never had a problem with him, I just lost interest halfway down the anime. I didn't care for any of the characters.Sean Hollyman said:I've never seen Evangelion, yet I love robot stuff. Is it any good? I heard the main guy was painful to watch
I say it's worth watching just for the sake of saying you've seen it, although I can't say for sure if you'll like it or not. But even so, it's one of the most influential and popular anime from the 90s. I say that makes it worth checking out at least.Sean Hollyman said:I might skip it then. The Evangelions are living beings. The Evangelions are a mix of Angel and human DNA that have been partially lobotomized and restrained to allow humanity to control it's enormous power.Dead Century said:Well, they're both giant sentient robots, right? I'm not familiar with Evangelion.
Angels beat the shit out of them.Casual Shinji said:So it's basically NGE, and then a space ship lands... with Transformers. Whatever helps Gainax squeez more money out of that good old teat, eh.
...I can seriously imagine that happening... right down to the multiple "No" lines when he has to team up with Optimus in an Eva...SilverStuddedSquirre said:Scarim Coral said:Ok that is a weird combination to say the least!
Either way if it has less angst/ Shinji whinny and more of Optimus Prime and co kicking Angels arses then I all up for it!
Who are you kidding? Shinji is going to be Voiced by Shia LaBeouf.
Amen. This should be... interesting. I want to see how Megatron falls into this.Leemaster777 said:Any piece of fiction that includes less Shinji and more Optimus Prime is automatically doing something right in my book.Scarim Coral said:Ok that is a weird combination to say the least!

Gurren Lagann and Evangelion are from the same studio and at first seem to be in the same genre, but they really could not be any more different. Gurren Lagann is basically the anti-Evangelion.Sean Hollyman said:I might skip it then.
