I'm sorry if I'm not the first to post these news but search didn't find anything so here goes!

So another Valve employee has been seen wearing a T-shirt with "Half Life 3" written on it [http://lambdageneration.com/posts/apparently-valves-art-director-jeremy-bennett-wore-a-half-life-3-t-shirt-to-comic-con-2011/] , complete with the fabled lambda logo with the number 3 next to it.

Now as anyone with internet access already knows, this is not the Half Life 3 t-shirt to be spotted in public. But it is the first time we see the shirt on a confirmed, current Valve employee. Here?s the interesting part; the picture on which the employee was seen wearing the shirt was taken back in 2011 at the Comic Con. So we know that back in 2011, Valve has of some strange unknown reason been producing shirts with the most controversial and long-awaited game logo in the history conspicuously printed on it.

Not only that, the employee in question, Jeremy Bennett is an art director from Valve who worked on Half Life Episode 2 and was the artist behind the recently released Half Life 3 concept art. It all makes it hard to imagine that this is all just another hoax.
There is no doubt in my mind that Half Life 3 is being developed. The array of never-ending Half Life 3 rumors and references, coupled with the evocative silence from Valve, certainly suggests that something strange is going on.

If Valve had no intention of ever releasing Half Life 3, they would make it absolutely clear that the game is not in the making and work to end all misguided speculation which would only serve to bitter their fans and steal attention from their existing IP. Instead, they seem to be handing out Half Life 3 T-shirts to their employees.

So what's going on here people? Are Valve employees whistleblowing about the existence of a top-secret Half Life 3 development?

Gabe has said that HL3 is being developed in interviews. The Valve handbook also has a picture of a dude in a HL3 t-shirt.

Everyone knows HL3 is coming, the issue is will anyone still care by the time it finally does?

How is that news? I remember this being reported when it happened last year, is it a slow season so somebody dug out the photo and went "Well, people most likely forgot already, so let's run it again"?

And "top secret HL3 development"? There was, like, leaked artwork (from episode 3, but still), and Gabe saying several times in no certain terms that it's going to be out when it's out. To call it "top secret" is a massive overstatement, more like "not really well publicised details".

It's hardly top secret knowledge that Half Life 3 is being worked on.

I think this is the definition of a slow news day article.

It'll be out around the time of the new consoles. HL3 isn't just a game; it's a showcase for Valve's new engine. The most appropriate time to release something like that is when there is a jump in technology, i.e. at the start of a console generation. Tying into this you've got Gabe's comments about wanting some sort of standardised PC specs to compete with consoles. PC tech has to follow the consoles to some degree, so there's no point releasing a big new engine when there's new consoles about to be released.

It will happen when it happens, no point getting all excited every time a shirt appears with a Half Life logo on it. Trust me here, we will enjoy the game a hell of a lot more if we just forget it exist until the day its released as we won't have built it up in our heads.

I've been hearing people nerdgasm over that franchise for over 10 years now, I don't see how anyone won't (care).

Hold on... it's 27/12/12 now.
27 = 3[sup]3[/sup]
12 -> 1+2 = 3
also
12 = 4*3
"half" and "life" each have 4 letters.

And that dude attended ComicCon with that t-shit. Think about it ComicCon - the most repeated letter is C it occurs 3 times and it's the 3rd letter of the alphabet.

Finally, look at his smile. Look at it! If you were to express it with an emoticon, wouldn't it be :3

That's it, HL3 is definitely announced now!

Normally I'd say you are clutching at straws there, but then I'm quite impressed how quickly you came up with that theory.

It all fits together, man, it all fits together. Why else would we hear a rerun of the old news from last year? It's Valve's way of telling us.

Because obviously they wouldn't make a normal announcement but instead to tell their fans something, they'd rely on hidden subliminal messages embedded in anything related to "half life 3" even if it follows crazy dream logic, that even conspiracy theorists would laugh off.

Oh man, I've just noticed that in this conversation about Half Life 3 our post counts are exactly 3000 posts apart. ANOTHER 3!

Disregard my original post you're right man, all these 3's turning up in this thread about Half Life 3, it is too much of a coincidence. Valve are trying to tell us something. It's finally here! The Freeman walks again!

If you write out "HALF LIFE THREE" using a number for each letter corresponding to its place in the alphabet, you get:

8 1 12 6 12 9 6 5 20 8 18 5 5

-> 8 + 1 + 12 + 6 + 12 + 9 + 6 + 5 + 20 + 8 + 18 + 5 + 5 = 115
-> 1 + 1 + 5 = 7

Now what's even weirder is that you can take each digit individually and add them up to get the same number:

-> 8 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 1 + 2 + 9 + 6 + 5 + 2 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 8 + 5 + 5 = 70
-> 7 + 0 = 7

So it's confirmed; Half-Life 3 will be out in 2007.

Let's just hope that Half Life 3 won't become another Duke Nukem Forever.

I can most certainly wait,but it depends how many more years we will have to wait for it.

Well Half-Life is just yet another first person shooter after all. I mean what can that game do now in terms of innovation and/or originality.
give us a story worth telling perhaps?

In my personal experience, I didn't need to know if they were original or innovative to love the Half life games. I doubt many others did either, so no worries.

Guys, Can we stop making HL3 threads. They just attract desperate people who are looking for an opportunity to ***** about the series. And here I thought Mass Effect got it bad.

No, that's 7, as in it will come out after 7 years. So it is expected in 2011, duh.
