The last new game I played was GTA 4 (since my games budget is £10 and under ;_, and I enjoyed it, didn't live up to my expectations but it was good.

I would have enjoyed Braid and Mirror's Edge if I could buy them...

Off the top of my head. I'm aware most of those were released prior to 2008, some by a marjin of over a decade, but nowhere in the OP was it suggested that those games had to be released in the past year, and I first played all of the above in the past year.

I didn't care for GTA IV, but I did like Gears 2. And I don't care what you guys say- I want to play the new Prince of Persia.

You, the more hear about that game, the less I care.

Well...thats how I was. But then IGNs review turned up and...err. I don't know. IGN are pritty bad reviwers, but...Oh I just don't know! I so, so want it to be good.

Fallout 3 = awesome. (oblivion = not awesome, I don't see why the two have to be linked all the time)

2008 has been an excellent year for games. I particularly enjoyed NHL 09 (the best yet thanks to Be A Pro mode), Braid, GTA IV, Gears 2 (much better than I expected), Fallout 3, and Mirror's Edge. Oh, and Street Fighter II HD Remix is very nice to have.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed lived up to almost every one of my expectations...The exception being its length, but I had a blast with it anyway.

I also loved Spiderman: Web of Shadows, for the fact that it made up for Spiderman 3 and Friend or Foe, with all the combo possibilities and the storyline that manages to be...well..MORE serious then that of 3.

Gears of War 2...beat my expectations...I mean, come on! You hijack a freakin' BRUMAK!

WWE: SMackdown vs. Raw 2009 was definetely a step in the right direction for the SVR series...Now they just need to release the DLC with Vladimir Kozlov and I'll be satisfied...

I loved Devil May Cry 4. But then again I even liked Devil May Cry 2, so anything about devils crying it will have to be very bad for me not ti like it.
Gears of War 2 is very good, and as I get better at it I'm only enjoying it more.
But my highlight of the year is definitely Beijing 2008 Fallout 3.

Left 4 Dead owns my world.

I haven't played Devil May Cry 4 yet, and I refuse to pay $60 for Spore, so I'll be waiting until the price goes down to about $40.
