A pirate game with good ship to ship combat would be nice. And the return of Space combat simulators like Freespace 2.
That sounds pretty damn awesome, actually.Vrex360 said:How about a sandbox crime game, set in the 1930's?
Complete with an old movie filter and general film noir kind of an atmosphere. Complete with colorful characters and villains.

Something very loosely based on, you know, pirates of the Caribbean. I kinda liked it back then, the ships were cool and taking 'em over was even better. Not to speak of sacking the ports... Although obviously enough there could be worlds of improvements.
Dammit, you got there before me!! And I agree that trying to pull of a game based on a television series is always a bad idea. Still, I could imagine an excellent game sandbox style game that allows you to purchase your ship, assemble your crew, take jobs, etc... Hell it could even work as a MMOG. Like EVE Online but fun!!selce said:Firefly: The Game!rabidmidget said:What I want to see is more SPACE WESTERNS!
They're like normal westerns, but in space
sadly though i dont think it can be done in a way that could give the show the credit it deserves.
YES! How about a game about the life of Miyamoto Musashi? It could be totally open world, and all that other good stuff. Plus he actually was a master swordsman, so mowing down five opponents at once wouldn't seem too unrealistic...Plurralbles said:no, that's exactly how they were like. It was all about who had the money. Bushido in the terms taht all samurai abided by its rules is fairly recent idea(within this century).trueluigi7 said:Well what else is there to go with after a western go with about the same time period but in a different part of the world, I am speaking of a Samurai Game, but I think it should be done right I mean I love action but the game should be highly focused around what they were truly like helping people out and not just running around killing people. The samurai were not very into the idea of just killing well some of them others always had duels with other samurai, and then there were the rouge samurai. Anyways I love the way samurai lived and I really want to see one that is amazing.
Just because you have a rule book from centuries ago and a few stories doesn't make it true.
Jade Empire remade would be perfectly acceptable : D
Check out Mafia (and look forward to Mafia 2). It's a bit dated, but supposedly quite good in the 30s gangsta atmosphereVrex360 said:How about a sandbox crime game, set in the 1930's?

Yep. That. Agreed.Milky_Fresh said:Screw pirates, vikings are just the same only better.
There was age of pirates carribean tale, which was enjoyable for a time, the sea combat was excellent, but it was incredibly flawed and buggy. There was sid Meiners pirates as well which was well polished, but a bit to child friendly and the combat wasnt great. The two combined would make an excellent game, wih a few additonsBillion Backs said:I'm pretty sure there were some decent pirate-based games in 2004 and on.

Freelancer was fun for a time, but eventually it just bored the hell out of me. You could go everywhere, but there wasnt a lot to see.thethingthatlurks said:Anyway, how about a good space game? Something open universe, lots of exploration, fluid combat, decent story, etc. Or how about just Freelancer 2?
hmm.. the closest thing that sounds like that, would maybe be the upcoming XCOM remakeVrex360 said:How about a sandbox crime game, set in the 1930's?

To make it even more interesting? Add dinosaurs instead of cars, so Dinotopia but set in the 1930's... oh and everyone travels on giant floating airships.
