Currency equivalent to one million U.S. dollars, a picture of breasts, the cure for cancer, a tape recording of Morgan Freeman reading the complete works of Shakespeare, and a genuine working lightsaber.

That's a life changing amount of money that someone like Molyneux could get a hold of.

A Dead Sea Scroll which says: Foreword: All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

That or a sherbert lemon.

While he does churn out a lot of awful things that fail to live up to promises he is one of the few people in the industry who is willing to try new things and still maintains a curiosity about what can be done with the medium.

OT: Whatever it is it will in no way be as amazing as Peter seems to think it is..........

If it's a Rickroll I will laugh though, perfect bait for it.

Yeah but when half of the new things he tries end up failing, then they're only average (or below)
You wouldn't tolerate a leader making experimental decisions just because "he has your best interests at heart", you'd want results on the promises made.

That anology is stupid. Molyneux tries and fails, but at least he tried. I'd rather have this Black Box thing than another FIFA game.

My Kinsman, Major Molyneux!

*Sniggers*

I'm sorry, but every time I see that name or one like it, that's what I always think of.

It's not stupid when people keep touting Molyneux as a "leader in video game creativity", which I always thought was pretty sad.

He isn't the leader in video game creativity. He is just one of the few in the AAA bussiness that is able to do this kinda stuff. Or was actually, since now he's with 23 Cans.

Hmmm. Well, I can see only 2 possible outcomes. Either a massive trollface that crashes your computer, steals your bank info, and then stabs you in the face, or...

The most effective, biting, and fantastic "Yo Mama" joke that has ever existed. That really would be life-changing.

Or perhaps it is certain pattern, repeated millions of times, that unlocks inside our souls our potential to be Gods. That's certainly an option.

I know he's not "the" leader in creativity, but he's actively promoted as "a" leader. And unfulfilled promises isn't creativity, it's just unfulfilled promises. I mean, look at all the comments in this topic, do any of them take Molyneux and his idea seriously?
And I think anyone could do what he's doing (in that anyone can try to be creative), but don't because they're either more interested in money, think their own ideas are good, or because their parent company said no.
Molyneux isn't special, we're just more accustomed to his "variety" of "creativity", than say, Epic making a game about some box and human curiosity.

Then show some examples, because I don't remember Molyneux fanbase being as excessive and prominent as you describe. There are Fable Fans, sure, but I'm not so sure about Molyneux Fans.

And the problem is that Epic would never try such a thing. That's why some think this is "creative".
