I just bought The Witcher 2, despite telling myself to wait for it to get even cheaper
Ditto.
Went to install it, ran out of hard drive space. had to copy over my entire Steam library.

Then I bought the HoMMV pack.
Get a new HD!!

I was trying to buy The Witcher 2 and Borderlands GOTY, but it wouldn't take my card until it was too late and the sale ended.

Do Steam games come on sale more than once per summer sale?

Bleh. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to maintain the willpower to hold off buying until the 10th, to make sure I don't buy a daily deal too soon.

Oh, I've got hard drives. I just don't have enough connections! I've got a 500GB drive sitting unplugged and unused in the case because I'm too lazy to get my SSD OS drive working properly - Doesn't want to detect my wireless network even after importing the exact settings from my other partition.

Don't buy Deus Ex. That's an insanely high price. It routinely goes on sale for less than $3.

I paid 10 cents for my copy.
Where did you get your copy?
GFWL. Seriously.

Also, I paid the same amount to preorder Witcher 2 as the sale price was on Steam. D2D --> 25% off preorders sale --> 10% off preorders = $33.75

Quite possibly the Strategy First pack. Several of the games therein have a certain amount of casual interest to me.

Still waiting to see the really good deals coming up, though...
I noticed the sheer amount of games there, and while I was intrigued nothing really stood out to me so I left it in search of other great deals. Would you mind recommending some titles therein?
First, take under advisement that the titles in this pack have more niche than mainstream appeal. That said, here's the stuff I'm familiar with:
* The Ankh series are some of the more successful adventure games post-2000. Humor, rather than drama, is their focus.
* Darkstar One is a space action/adventure similar to Freelancer.
* Birth of America is a "grognard" style turn-based strategy game.
* The "Disciples" series are all (aside from the most recent) excellent turn-based/tactical games - think HOMM.
* The FlatOut series are destruction/crashing-focused racing games.
* Ghost Master is a quirky RTS title with elements of Dungeon Keeper mixed in.
* Perimeter 2 is the sequel to a very unusual RTS, involving terrain capturing as a central game mechanic.
* Sacred is a fun, humor-focused action-rpg.
* Fleet Command is a very old (think, 1999) in-depth naval combat simulator.

Could you tell me more about the mechanics and gameplay? Preferably without too many references, are bad at those. Also, I have Flatout already.

Snagged Borderlands. Played it a good bit for PS3 when it first released, but as a rental. Always wanted to buy it, but never got around to it. Now's the time!
how do you find it? Is the open world done well?
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It isn't on sale anymore, so it is 20 bucks now. Still worth it, imo. The art style is pretty cool and the multiplayer is still pretty active. Without multiplayer it gets a little repetitive. Just imagine Diablo with guns.

I've already picked up

-Stubbs the Zombie
-BIT.TRIP Runner
-Medal of Honor

I'll probably end up snagging the Value collection.

I picked up Dwarfs?!

Not played it yet, but it seems to be the kind of strange, off-the-wall strat game that'll hook me for ages.

So what are YOU getting from the Steam Summer Sale?
Downloads that keep suspending themselves!

Start a game, Alt tab out of it, and restart the download doesn't fix it for you?
No. The download would resume, then instantly suspend itself again.

Working now though so I suppose the Steam servers were just under strain. I cannot imagine why.
