Well, this topic is about exactly what it says on the tin. It's not supposed to be serious but I know the'll be some people who'll say "this thread's been done to death!". fuck 'em.

So what things do you find attractive in a man or woman? Or conversely, what would put you right off?

I'm a straight male so I'll be mostly talking about females, but I can give an opinion on what I think constitutes an attractive guy too.

Women:

- Tall or short is not to bothersome for me, though not too short or I'd have to crouch to kiss them or something like that.

- Weight ain't too much an issue though I'm not keen on either extreme.

- I'm not keen on blondes. I'm just not. Brown, black or ginger/red hair is absolutely fab though, the former is dark and mysterious, the latter fiery and passionate! ;)

- I love accents, not most Scottish or English accents though. Welsh accents are really lovely, as are those from the Islands. Foreign accents are really exotic to me too (most likely the product of having grown up in a small village).

- I love geekiness and most people don't get what I mean by this. They think I mean like "hot librarian" but no (though I do think girls who wear glasses can look very sexy...). What I mean are girls who are just really passionate about something that isn't partying or booze. It could be Sci Fi, astronomy, maths, cartoons, films, books anything like that. To me it makes me very interested and I think it's very cute when someone gets excited about talking about their particular subject. I just love it.

- Sense of humour is a must. You can be as pretty as you want but if you never smile or laugh and take everything oh so seriously, then I can't spend time with you. I've met few women who don't look attractive when they smile.

- Perfume and other smelly things. They can be nice but if I can smell you from 3m away and you leave an odour trail you're wearing too much! I'm not big on smokers either but I don't smoke so I notice the smell more I think.

- I like a person who I could have interesting discussions with. I like people who have opinions on things, even if they differ from mine. How boring would it be to have people never differing from me? I may as well date myself!

- Make-up is unnecessary for the most part. A little bit is fine if you're going somewhere nice and it can enhance ones features but it can sometimes mask their natural beauty if used to excess.

- Most importantly, they've got to have a nice personality by which I mean friendly warm and comfortable to be around.

Men:

- Beards? Seriously? Have people never read The Twits as a child?! The rugged look is okay though so a little bit of stubble is absolutely fine.

- Big muscles look a bit wierd. An athletic body is nice (and what I'd like to have) but too much muscle just looks unnatural.

- Okay, I understand why some girls like the bad boys but why the wasters? At least have the sense to go for ones with some income!

- Why are loads of men so obsessed with the size of their willy? As long as its 4+ inches when up you can pleasure a woman just fine. And actually the thickness is more important to a degee anyway..... not that I'm an expert or anything (but my dad works for the NHS and I read a lot of medical magazines as a kid).

- As with women, men who take themselves too seriously ain't attractive. Have fun, man!

- If a man is overly obsessed with their appearance, I don't think that's attractive either. And as with women, if I can smell your aftershave from 3m away you're wearing too much!

I know I've pretty much written an essay here but I'm interested to know what the lovely forum goers here think. This isn't supposed to be taken too seriously so don't be offended by anything I've posted here (or else).

Have a lovely day everybody!

Wow, you pretty much just described my girlfriend Amy.

But to me its not looks that I find attractive, I prefere personallity and interests. Buty is skin deep. The only physical feature I like is hieght, since im tall I dont like short girls, its uncomfortable.

I've seen a fair few of your posts and I get the feeling you're trolling, except you're not very good at being subtle. Though props to you for at least trolling in such a way that you appear to be posting crap that's vaguely related to each topic you're posting on. Of course, I doubt you'll understand what the hell I'm talking about, most trolls have no idea of what the Queen's English even is. I hope you've had a good time here. Now kindly leave.

As for the topic... I find goth girls sort of sexy. Perky Goth, though, and similar to the likes of, say Death (of Neil Gaiman fame...). Indie chicks and geeky girls are pretty hot too, like Zooey Deschanel or Felicia Day. But as far as everything else goes...

Longer hair does it for me, though short hair is hot too. I prefer brunettes to blondes, though red hair is a massive turn-on too (is it only me who thinks Nicola, the pale-skinned redhead, is the best looking one in the group Girls Aloud?). Not too tall, but not too short either. Fun person to talk to, ideally into gaming and computers and whatnot (though not a massive necessity). Quirky, an oddball is definitely someone I'd go for, the quirkier the better (think Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, that sort of 'quirk').

Oh, and accents are hot too. Any girl with an Irish accent, and I'm instantly in love, the moment she opens her mouth. A girl with an Irish accent is the sexiest thing in the world to me...

I'm a straight guy. Well I find women with an innocent look to them to be quite attractive. I like a women thighs to have some fat on them, just enough to where it fits right with the hips.

Big eyes, a sly smile, defined jaw, and a relaxed posture. Good hair helps

Myself...
Get it? Because you asked what I find attractive in a man or woman?

*is hit with a shot glass*

Ow! Okay... Jeez.

For boys, I like slight figures. I'm not a huge guy physically, and seeing as I have a more dominant personality, having someone more muscular than me would just seem off-putting. Someone I can wrap my arms around and then cuddle into submission. A cute butt is a must, as well.

For girls, I don't mind some curves, but I don't want a big girl. I'm not that stereotypical guy who wants an skinny girl with fake-looking DD tits. I personally think that smaller breasts are cuter, especially when they're more supple and perky.

Of course, for both parties, a pretty face and a good smile is pretty much baseline for me.

This is just from a physical point of perspective, though. Personalities have to be compatible as well.

Full eyebrows, they make expressions that much more emotive. Weighs more than me, not exactly a hard feat. No six packs, I don't like that much muscle definition on the stomach. Broad shoulders make me melt. Noticeably taller or shorter is nice. No shaved body hair. Only find men attractive, I think women look better with some extra fat at the tops of their arms and thighs.

There's a difference between my ideal man and someone i find attractive. My ideal man however, would be tall, between toned and normal, but they'd have to have healthy eating habits, because starving yourself is nicht so attractive. Hairy legs are a must. Skin colour doesn't matter but I do like darker hair, between short and medium length. I like green eyes the best, though blue eyes can be very pretty on men too. Good taste in music is a must.

Woman. Face and hair (on head). I like gingers, generally. But, yeah, faces have always been the deciding actor for me. I can look past any body type, it doesn't really register unless somsone's really throwing it out there and that just elicits a form of lust as opposed to actual interest. But the face is what I'm going to be looking at the most, so a pretty face is incredibly important. And, like I said, hair is important. No specific type, though I prefer natural redhead, but nice hair is important, if not as much as the face.

Ideal? Redhead. That's seriously it.

I like a woman who is smart, objective, ladylike, and carries a fine fine ass.
Also knows how to cook.
Yeah, that's first on the list.
If she knows how to cook, I can overlook the rest.
