It's Sony. Sony's cocky. They'll take any opportunity to spin a bad situation for them into an opportunity to trash talk the competition.
Wasn't this a post against Microsoft? It gets clearer every day that you don't know what you're talking about.
And then they saw some workable hacks that made use of PS2 BC, just as a number of PS2 hacks make use of PS1 BC.
The logical thing to do, that wouldn't alienate a large portion of the target audience, would be to
fix these problems. Not to remove the feature that lots of people wanted to begin with.
You're slow on the uptake, they took PS2 BC out a looooong time ago.
I'm slow on the uptake, because I preferred to use an example in time that's easier to identify than bringing up the 40 GB PS3s with no media slots and only 2 USB ports? Flame fail.
They removed memory slots because nobody was using them, and they cost extra money. They removed SACD support because nobody was using it (it's not like SACDs are easy to come by anyway). They removed PS2 BC because it was a security liability. The case is the same with Other OS support. The changes were to either cut down on production costs to make the features people actually wanted available at a more affordable price, or to protect them against piracy.
I think I have a reason to complain that the 4 USB ports were cut down to two. I also use the memory slots (particularly the SD card one) all the time, as does my brother. PS2 backward compatibility and other OS support, I say the same thing. Instead of just trimming away at features that a lot of people
bought the thing for (I personally didn't, but being able to play Odin Sphere with no lag is a nice bonus), they could take the more customer-friendly route and
fix the god damn things. But of course they'd rather say "Oh, a small group of people are abusing this? Well, fuck everyone. You don't get it anymore." Similar to Ubisoft's oppressive PC DRM.
What was the reason for this paragraph? Oh yeah. Because you oh so eloquently claimed that "no one uses these features." Well, I do. That automatically disproves your claim.
Plus they're raping everyone who buys a 360 on WiFi and HD upgrades.
Raping everyone on Wifi...
what? The Xbox 360 was HD to begin with. How is that "raping everyone" with an HD upgrade? The new systems have Wifi built in, as well.
If you're talking about how only later models had the built-in Wifi and HDMI cables, the latter was because HDMI wasn't really considered
that important at the time, so Microsoft decided not to put it in with their original models. Before you go on about how they're "raping" early adopters by forcing them to buy new models, perhaps you could explain to me how an HDMI to RCA adapter would work without a loss in picture quality.
Oh, wait.

Good job, you're on it now too. Anyone who supports danpascooch gets on my ignore list, so don't bother trying it again, you'll just waste everyone else's screen space.
Sweet. Now I don't have to hear your half-assed remarks as to "why I'm wrong" without actually explaining as such. Maybe we can get everyone on your ignore list so we can all insult your stupidity behind your back. Then you could possibly leave.
Congratulations. You have essentially given up the argument, making me the winner on this argument, the motion controls, and the iPhone, by default. You've also granted me a new avenue to fuck with you without any repercussion on your part. I hope that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, you ignorant sod.
