*Search Bar Approved* (Although I'm so damn tired I could have easily missed seeing a similar topic.)

I am currently sitting here at 3am wide awake much against my will and I have decided to ask you guys this question.

My worst night's sleep ever is well...tonight's. I normally don't get very much sleep in general (like maybe four hours) but tonight takes the cake by far. Why is this the worst night's sleep I have ever had? Well yesterday was one of the worst days I have ever had, it began with being totally shunned by one of three friends I have. Followed by a horrible day of work and when I finally got home I checked Facebook to see that my best friend (whom I have feelings for) who I didn't knew drank...Well she had a photo of her completely wasted being fondled by a total douchebag. That is the super short story, and it is much worse than I have written, but this thread is about sleep so I'm moving on.

I'm suffering from insomnia, and when I do manage to get 15 minutes of sleep I have huge night terrors. These terrors wake me up and I realize that I'm completely soaked in a cold sweat, have a splitting headache, severe stomach pains and violent shaking. Not to mention that every time I close my eyes I have that image of my best friend burned into the back of my eyelids.

So Escapists. What was the worst night's sleep you have ever had? Also if you want you can briefly explain what led to that night's "sleep" as I have done above.

Funny, tonight is possibly the worst sleep I've had for awhile. Without getting into too much detail a friend of mine embarrased me on the internet and I've just been feeling so alone lately. Like lost in the crowd alone, you know? I know I should go to bed, I have things to do tomorrow, but I just can't. In response to that lonliness...well, let's just say I've hit the rock bottom by doing the most futile of things.

Tonight sucks in general.

Today i got the "Good" Ending on Eversion...

If i get to sleep tonight it will be a miracle.

But i think the worst one was when I was sick with a fever, i had a massive dream, like an extreme RTS game, which i couldnt go to sleep untill i won...

I stayed up for ages tossing and turning, it was horrible.

When I was young and I first saw 'Pet Sematary' I could not get to sleep, I literally jumped at every noise in the house and I'm pretty sure I suffered permanent trauma. I was mentally and physically exhausted from all the fear that night and no matter what I did I couldn't block it from my mind and I curled up into a ball because I didn't want my foot or hand to be dangling over the side of the bed....

Also I once stayed the night at a friend's house, he snored like a rhinocerous and he never stopped and it was so loud that it disrupted my dreams, so my dream in which I was working in an office right out of a sitcom was interupted by a strange creature with a large trunk going:
"KNAAAARHGHRHGHGJGHH!"

Finally, just this morning. I had a nasty dream in which Charlie Brown and all the Peanuts had grown up and in a bitter snowstorm Charlie's soon to be fiance freezes to death so he becomes a drug addict and finally dies along in a similar blizzard.... it was very traumatic.

Finally once after getting horrible food poisoning I got to stay awake for about nine hours vomiting.

I have pretty much decided to pull an all-nighter now since that damn image won't leave my head. I have things to do tomorrow as well, but my brain doesn't seem to concerned about that XD.
Anyways, ahhh...I know that kind of alone. I feel it a lot too, it sucks ass.

The worst one I've ever had that I can remember would have to be when I went to bed at midnight and a mosquito flew by my ear and woke me up at 2am. I couldn't get any consistent sleep after that and I felt horrible all day.

Mine is absolutely nothing compared to yours, OP. I mean... damn, I feel bad for you.

A tie between returning from my first night of work, felt like I was awake and asleep at the same time all night, tired as all hell the next day, and the time when I was somehow so cold despite wearing a jumper, three quilts and the heater on.

Most nights I don't actually get to sleep for that 2 hours over the entire course of the night, thats real insomnia for you...

As for the worst night I actually got some sleep on it would be sleeping outside in an Iraqi sandstorm. I slept with goggles on and my sleeping bag wrapped around my face, and I woke up half buried in the sand.

Wow, nothing as bad as you.

I can't remember anything really, but whenever I've been to a party and gotten pissed/stoned no matter what time I go to bed I'll wake up at 6 in the morning the next day. Dead on everytime.

Everyone else I know sleeps really well apparently, which is annoying. Time before last I went to bed at 1, then I looked at the clock and it said half 1, then I rolled over again "5 minutes" later and it was 4 in the morning - and I felt like I hadn't slept yet.

Well, I'll be here with you, at least until I pass out. Perhaps we could be alone together tonight.

The night when I tried to sleep after I saw: The Empty Child. That episode freaked me out to no end. Whats worse, is that the following episode: The Doctor Dances, wasn't until 2 weeks later. Worst 2 weeks of sleep I ever had.

Ha, well it is good to know that I'm not alone. I don't know what I'm going to do for the next several hours. I guess I could try studying for my exams, but I feel like total crap so that wouldn't work out...
It is great to know that The Escapist lives up to its name, since just posting in forums has somewhat distracted me. Maybe by the time I'm ready to go about my day tomorrow I will have that image out of my head haha.

I couldn't get to sleep because every time I closed my eyes, I felt myself tumbling off a cliff. It was very real feeling too.

I had a important test tommorow, I slept at 10:00 for refreshing. I didn't sleep into 12:00. I kept waking up. I did manage well on the test because I was stressing out.

The time me and some friends when on camp decided it would be fun to sleep under the stars. Well of course, silly us, we didn't factor snow into the equation. And silly us, didn't think the door to the cabin would lock behind us.
Good times, good times.

I know how you feel; a girl's the main reason that i don't sleep at night, and not in a good way!
