Well your a happy person.
Thank you, although the word you want is "you're".
I also happen to be an English teacher ...
I can see why you might take a shine to me.
Oh yeah, and I'm humble also.
god i hate you
"God" is a proper noun that requires capitalization except in the case of saying "a god" where you are referring to a type of entity rather than a specific one. Not to mention its the first letter of a sentence. You also need ending punctuation, and you might consider a comma after "god" to show emphasize since you're using it as an interjection.

In response to you hating me... I get that sometimes. Its the natural response from someone realizing how awesome I am. Try not to dwell on it, I don't want to get too off-topic.

As someone who migrated to PC a while ago DIDN'T NOTICE this "slowdown", let me assure you that PC gaming won't "die".

If anything (as some people have tried to articulate) we wouldn't be using a "pc" AT ALL and therefore it wouldn't really make sense to game on it lol... but for now the PC is "there" and the hardware will run any modern game better than a console. (provided you have the money and tech sense)

There may reach a point where a gaming console is a "dedicated computer" and offers all the same hardware-upgradability and software-modificationity you have on the PC today, but then you're really just gaming on a PC but aren't calling it that.

But if it does "die".. well I'll just go back and play one of the 100 or so titles that have decent single-player, and bust out the NES/SNES emulator when that finally gets boring ^^

TheIceFace - you do realize that picking on other people's grammatical and spelling mistakes does not make you look cool, right? The fact that your command of the English language is adequate does not automatically imbue your arguments with sense.

Btw I do not hate you and I think that you are really awesome, and I dearly wish to be you.

Please feel free to attempt to demonstrate your stratospheric levels of awesomeness by pointing out grammatic and spelling errors in my post.

I agree with privatehuff, I'm not entirely sure where the notion that the PC market was diminishing. I can't really say that there is a big increase in consoles either, there are really only 3 companies competing: Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo as compared to "back in the day" when it was the same thing only with Sega as the substitute for Microsoft.

I can see where people notice an increase in the percentage of people interested in consoles, but thats mainly due to advanced marketing and an overall increased interest for technology.

I appreciate your sincere admiration Chalee, although I'm sorry you don't agree that being a human spellcheck makes me super-stellar-excellent.

To The_Toe_Blighter98: Thank you for the opportunity to show off my mad-skills, but I'm not going to even try to correct that sentence until you correct the political mistake in it. You referred to me as a Nazi, which is a fascist political party. Anyone who knows anything about the world can see that the hammer and sickle on my shit, in addition to the Chinese military hat are clear signs that I'm a communist, or at least I like pretending to be one for laughs. I simply cannot work under the guise of a fascist, that would be untruthful of me.

To all the normal people: Does anyone else realize how much of my sarcasm gets taken seriously?

the problem with game developing for PCs and high-end consoles at the moment is that to produce a game with graphics/features that justifies the "high-end" hardware, developers have to use lots of time, money, manpower and usually all three.

But when people start developing programs that can write programs (i.e. programs that make games) costs will go back down and we'll start to see some changes. More games will come out, and a good deal of these are going to be fantastic games. The deciding factor in their popularity will be, as I see it, how many people jump onto that game and tell all their mates about it.

Whether these are console games or PC games that become popular will depend on how saturated the market is and how user-friendly the technology is.

Right now, if games became cheap and easy to make, consoles would prevail because PCs are not user-friendly thanks to our buddies at Microsoft. That's not to say they couldn't be...

As a few have already pointed out, PC gaming can't die because too many of us love our mods. We are willing to sacrifice user-comfort for the customizability of PC gaming and we get used to it. But you're average casual gamer (not to point fingers) isn't always willing to make that sacrifice and they're well within their rights not to.

So if PC gaming is to thrive again, someone needs to get Microsoft off its lazy arse :D

PC gaming will never die it just won't you could put out 10 diffrent consoles on the market all at various prices ranging from low to high. Consoles are better then the PC MOSTLY MOSTLY MOSTLY. There are only a few things that a PC alone can and will only be able to do. for example: the mouse a PERFECT "controler" for RTS and MMO's it's just perfect. another example: The internet - i know what most console fanbitchs just sayed after saying that "oh all the consoles are already using the internet and i can talk smack to a 10 year old boy while humping my mother" yes they all have internet but the PC gives you the best out of any ever. you can pause your game minimize the screen and go directly to your cheat website. plus Blizzard is a prime example look at WoW the most addictive game out there i would say it is more addictive then some drugs. Companies like these make it IMPOSSIBLE for PC gaming to go out of business.

Plus here is another thing sharing small tiny tiny video games gave a lot of ideas to the console programmers and actually made some of the great ones. so if you take away those tiny tiny video games then you lose lots of inspirational ideas and may lose those great programers. so if PC gaming doesn't exist and many of the ideas and programers just vanish then console gaming will become the same boring shit over and over and over again and people would soon get pissed and leave it all in the god damn dust.

What a stupid thread. This is like saying "What if Mobile Phones actually died?" - doh - they never will, society is based around PC's too much for them to ever go away. They may change shape/form/appearance but they are here to stay, and therefore, so will the games on them.

Hee hee, "arse", you English people crack me up. A valid point however, the big reason a lot of people aren't interested in PC gaming is due to the crap you have to put up with in Windows.

The biggest problem seems to be that Microsoft releases it products before they are ready. Vista, for example, sucks, and is going to continue sucking until a few service packs in the future. The same thing happened with XP, it was terrible at first, now at SP3, you can actually use it fairly well.

well maybe if you haven't noticed when you talk to someone sarcastcly over the INTERNET we can't notice it in your voice but in which the way you type. it is quite hard to actually pick up sarcasm with no voice especially if you start picking off stupid little mistakes to random people who don't even know you in the slightest idea.

It might be a small problem or from the view of something tottaly oblivious to actual human behavior. So when you start correcting grammer and spelling your basicaly calling them stupid. And when you don't know someone by any type of of way shape or form and you start insulting them, that situation is extremely identical to the situation of me walking into their house and pointing at their mother and saying she's fat.

Exactly how badly did you have to get "abused" at your school or in your social life that you need to start trying to cut some one down just so you can make yourself feel better. Don't give me that "oh well that's not why im doing it i feel fine" no that's a load of bullshit. Your behavior towards others obviously points out that your social life has been ruined and you need to start getting others pissed and try and make them look stupid. You really need to go out get friends and learn that the fucking world does not revolve around your child like head.

Rant:

PC gaming isn't dying. What's actually happening is most of the games that lack depth and/or quality in them are moving toward the console market to be played by the tards that fill them. I'm by no means calling everyone who plays on a console a tard, but we have to come to terms with the fact that most games on the consoles are, for lack of a better word, stupid.

The greatest FPS games are still available to the PC because then one can use a keyboard and mouse, which will always trump the controller; RTS games are nearly unplayable on consoles; RPG's still come out for PC's as well as the console.

The only game right now that I regret not having a PC version of is GTA 4, because I could seriously aim much better with a mouse. I hate auto-aim.

Don't mention MGS 4. Most of my friends cite it as the sole reason for buying a PS3 and I got to play it a few days ago. I hated it like I hated its predecessors. I'm not trying to incite an MGS debate here. I'm consolidating that there really is little for people like me to be had in a console. I game and do much more on the PC, which is likely to be many times more powerful than the PS3.

If anything I'd get myself a Wii, because of all the consoles it is the one that offers the most party-game potential, which is the only thing I see a console ever having over a PC. Hell if I'm playing Brawl or Mario Kart on my own. Thank God I have 3 friends with Wii's and every goddamn recycled Nintendo franchise that runs on it.

To answer the post:

What would kill the PC gaming market is beyond me, as I can't see it die. It will happen a long, long while from now and will be universal. I would find that my biggest hobby had disappeared and will probably turn to reading and more chess to balance out the free time deficit.

BigCat91 and numerous other haters said:
I hate you Iceface because you use spellcheck, it makes me feel inferior and I go cut myself. Furthermore I hate you and you are a stupid, stupid-head with poop for brains!

I bet everyone was mean to you in school 'cause you were a total douche and your brains smelled like doo-doo. I personally hate propers spelling and take things posted on the internet too seriously. Also MasterChief is perfect, and he is also perfect, and I hate you!
You're absolutely right, you've caught me, I hate everyone. I especially hate people who are easy to pick on, I in no way should assume that people should correct their flaws rather than holding on to them and complaining when others try to help them. I also admit that nothing I have ever posted on the Escapist is sarcastic, it is actually pent up anger from all the years I was stuffed into lockers during school....

Sorry about that, that was a little too far out there, I don't think anyone would believe it if I paid them. Here is the truth, I like hanging out on the Escapist forums and reading/discussing games and stuff. I also enjoy their appreciation for proper grammar and spelling (read the posting guidelines). On top of that Firefox has a built in spellcheck that I thoroughly enjoy using.

Growing up I was a perfect student, I graduated with highest honors from high school, I was active in student administration as well as multiple varsity sports, I was never a skinny little guy, I never had or needed braces or glasses, and I was too tall after freshman year to fit in any lockers. I easily got a job as a game tester, and later an English teacher, and developed a healthy superiority complex. I also can make up anything about my past while on the internet, and I have to offer absolutely no proof, although I assure you I am a perfect individual in all ways so I have no reason to lie.

If you want to continue picking on me and making me cry like you did, do it through private messages or start up a forum in "Off-Topic".
