I'm on the fence of getting it. I have the PS2 version and love it, but is the new paint job worth $20? Also are there any issues/problem with it I should know before I get it?
I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best HD port I've seen of any game to date.

Even more than Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

No issues for me yet, but I'm not that far in.

Not yet, but it is on my "to get" list.

I regret never playing it on the PS2 (although being a kid w/o a job and skimpy parents may have been partly to blame). I always thought it looked like an awesome game, but I just never got the opportunity

But Okami, Dishonored, and ME1 (when it gets its PS3 release) are on the top of my list this christmas (in no particular order there)

Didn't play Okami the first time around, I completely missed picking it up for some reason even though it seemed like it'd be good, but I'll definitely pick up the HD remake in a minute or two when I can be bothered to boot up the PS3 and check it out.

So thanks you for the heads up, I'll be downloading it shortly....but I will be holding you personally responsible if it's not any good. :)
Okay, I've currently just hit Kusa(? the second village) having just finished the ruins in the forest and it's still all oppressive in there. Loving the game and playing it slightly obsessively so all of you recommending it are off of the hook. There's so many collectables and stuff to find that my gaming OCD is kicking in.

The one thing I don't like about the game is how slowly everyone talks in the event scenes when you can't speed them up. The opening intro storytelling alone took 20 minutes and included 4 prompts for one character laughing the slowest I have ever seen anyone laugh. Getting those chests below the deck in the first village was a bit of an ordeal as well.

Ok guys. I beat the game just now (34 hours with all beads, treasures, tomes, etc, plus S-rank). Don't worry, no spoilers.

-The first (and only) major glitch I found was pretty random. I was running around doing bead collecting and the game froze (losing about an hour of progress, including one of the hardest beads in the game).

-On Saturday I got a minor glitch of a battle giving me 0 yen (purse wasn't full), but that was more funny than anything.

-I watched the credits, and this is kinda perplexing. The animation is the same, however it's Ryoshima Coast's theme that played for me. Dunno why, but that's what it was. I never heard Reset at all. The instrumental of Reset played fine during one of the last cutscenes, but not in the credits. Wtf? Capcom, just...why did you ok that? One of the reasons why people didn't like the Wii version as much is that the lovely credits were tampered with. I haven't noticed anyone post up stuff, so I don't know if my game glitched or what.

EDIT: Not a glitch I can see. The musicbox extra doesn't have the song either. Fuck you guys. That song with the credits worked so well. Is there some sort of licensing that I'm not aware of?

-All trophies kicked in...except one. This is really pissing me off. I beat all the bosses, did the devil gates, beat over 850 enemies, did the optional sidequests and minibosses, and even compared my bestiary to an online list. Everything seemed perfect. WHY hasn't the trophy kicked in? From memory, I can't think of any enemy I haven't met. Again, I don't know f anyone else hit this glitch (there isn't even a complete trophy list posted, seeing as most of the plot-related ones are hidden)

EDIT: The Bestiary trophy wasn't glitching. Apparently this is a missable trophy, featuring an enemy I don't think I've ever bothered to see. The enemy is called the Fire Doom Mirror and is only seen in the scroll near the final stage of the Imperial Palace dungeon. In most of the game, the things that are one of a kind (beads, treasures, etc) aren't in places you can't return to (only exception being a hungry dog in a...certain spoilery area). But with the Fire Doom Mirror, you can't return the place where the scroll is. If you've passed that part and you never even touched the scroll in that area, you already lost your trophy. No one really talked about it too much because it was just the bestiary and unless you've seen a full one, there are no gaps to indicate you haven't completed it yet. I'm currently doing a speedrun with the string of beads (which wrecks EVERYTHING) so I can zip to about...halfway through the game. Not feeding animals or restoring greenery I don't need to. I NEED this platinum. Too stubborn to stop now. I love this game too much to ignore it.

You were close, Capcom. You were really close x____x. 6 years and the team you closed down STILL trumps you.

EDIT: *3.5 hours of speedrunning later* Ok, platinumed. Phew
