So who else isn't buying BF3 or MW3

If you're actually a fan of the genre...

BF3 was a huge let down. The difference between it and BFBC2 is small, doesn't feel like a full blown battlefield game. Don't care for the poor hit detection, triangle spotting, scopes on every weapon, etc.

MW3 is 60 bucks on steam, and from what I understand you don't even get all the game modes. What a fucking rip off. It's not the money, it's giving it to such blatantly greedy assholes. So while I don't plan on buying it, I will pry cave due to shear boredom.

I've even been looking into F2P and indy games because the mainstream has gotten so watered down.

Best thing that could happen to FPS games right now?

Games without prone and without iron sights coming back. How the fucking industry raised a generation of shooters on monkey running, circle strafing, rocket jumping madness- and then succeeded at introducing boring things like laying down and super accurate slow-move mode, I'll never know.

Well actually I do know, it's because of the awkward controls on consoles. They started building games around it. No more super fast keyboard/mouse games- started dying off about the same time the 360 came out.

Damn shame, lot of you are missing out on real fun. The tedium of laying down in a bush to take potshots at a cluster of pixels you thought you saw move is not FPS gaming.

Not going to buy Mw3 because Mw2 turned me off the franchise because of the "community" alone.

BF3 is an FPS, ergo, I'll play it on the PC.

BF3 for PC comes bundled with spyware, ergo, it's going to stay the hell away from my computer.

To sum it up:
You're not alone, OP.

Yeah, I'm getting neither.
I'm a little burnt out on FPS's, to be honest.
Plus, to me at least, Skyrim and Saints Row 3 look miles more fun.

I'm not buying MW3 because it doesn't look like a game, it lokks like an expansion pack. I'm not buyin BF3 because I don't like Battlefield. There, I can't see any ways to make it more clear.

I might buy Battlefield 3 when the price falls...not sure if I'll buy it for PC.
If not, I'm perfectly fine playing it on a console.

[sub]No, I'm not buying COD[/sub]

MW3 was never on my list to begin with. BF3 I was moderately interested in (after the price had dropped to something my wallet could deal with), but after that Origin BS, I'll pass.

I'm just not into those kind of games. I'm already getting five games this month anyway (actually more than that: one of them is the Metal Gear Solid HD collection). That bit of overindulgence will have to stave off my game buying for a while. I can't think of any games I want to buy until March anyway, and that's a game I preordered in June (Mass Effect 3).

Seriously, why so many November releases? I can't think of any games in December, January, or February that I want. There was only one game in August (Deus Ex: Human Revolution), one in September (ICO Collection), and one in October (Arkham City).

I've always been a Quake kind of guy; fastpaced unrealistic fps.
MW1 was kind of fun, so was BC1 for a while but neither was fun in the long run. I still play Quake3(or rather QL) from time to time.
As a matter of fact, thursday-sunday will probably involve a lot of Q3 since I'm going to a 150~ish man LAN and we admins have been playing it on every LAN since it came out. :D

I won't be buying either, but it is solely because I'm not interested in what either has to offer. After 4 COD games since MW, I just don't feel like getting more of the same. I didn't enjoy the beta for BF3, so I'm not getting that either. I'll just stick to skyrim for November.

I own the original Modern Warfare. I do not need to purchase the sequel or the competing franchise which will be exactly the same game but with shinier graphics and a few new toys.

Also, anyone who gets into fanboy bashing of one or the or the other series needs to immerse their head in ice water because THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING GAME!

I'm not getting either. I'm bored with the whole grey shooting trend. I'm saving my money for games with variety. Games that are fed with rainbow colored crazy awesome like Saints Row 3 or grown in a soil of stealth and water of epic combat, like Batman Arkham City(I haven't got it yet).
I couldn't care less for the colorless unimaginative shooting of CoD or Battlefield that always follow the same trend of regenerating health and shoot guys who are not on your side.
I'd play them if I was round someones house and they owned them but I wouldn't spend money on them.

I won't buy either as I was raised on a different generation of games. Nonmodern warfare is just the same game in a new color. same exact gameplay, a lot of perks return, and the fanboys, my god the fanboys. Kids these days wouldn't know a good game if it came and slapped'em in the face. But it's what makes money, so that's what we'll get. BF3, well BF3 dissapointed me when the Devs said it would be a true PC game and have gone and messed it up with things like origion.

Neither. Couldn't think of anything worse. Get Arkham City, awesome game, and play that until skyrim is out ;)
