If you're actually a fan of the genre...
BF3 was a huge let down. The difference between it and BFBC2 is small, doesn't feel like a full blown battlefield game. Don't care for the poor hit detection, triangle spotting, scopes on every weapon, etc.
MW3 is 60 bucks on steam, and from what I understand you don't even get all the game modes. What a fucking rip off. It's not the money, it's giving it to such blatantly greedy assholes. So while I don't plan on buying it, I will pry cave due to shear boredom.
I've even been looking into F2P and indy games because the mainstream has gotten so watered down.
Best thing that could happen to FPS games right now?
Games without prone and without iron sights coming back. How the fucking industry raised a generation of shooters on monkey running, circle strafing, rocket jumping madness- and then succeeded at introducing boring things like laying down and super accurate slow-move mode, I'll never know.
Well actually I do know, it's because of the awkward controls on consoles. They started building games around it. No more super fast keyboard/mouse games- started dying off about the same time the 360 came out.
Damn shame, lot of you are missing out on real fun. The tedium of laying down in a bush to take potshots at a cluster of pixels you thought you saw move is not FPS gaming.
