Hell yes, just finished SoTC today. I'm going to start Ico tomorrow. The only down side is now the wait for The Last Guardian is going to be even more painful.

Just atarted on SOTC earlier. I'm not sure if the original manual was better, but the one in the HD collection doesn't tell you much.

I got to the first Colossus, and can get his attention by stabbing his leg. I'm fairly sure that's all I've done so far. What does the circular thing in the lower right mean? I've been searching for info on that online to no avail.

I am playing Ico. and boy I wish there was autosave on some parts. a lot of mistakes can really take a chunk of your time.

But when it's smooth sailing, the experience is very pleasant.
Basically it autosaves at the idol doors which Yorda opens, and a very few other points, but yes they can be far apart :)

I don't own a next generation console, so I will not be getting the pack. This sucks.

I wasn't even aware it was out. I plan to get it sometime, just not right now. Maybe Christmas.

It's a stamina meter. It constantly depletes while you're grabbing onto a colossus, so you need to find moments where you can stand and recover. You also need to have a clear plan of how you're going to get to the weak point before you start climbing (you have more leeway earlier in the game, but this is important later).

I've just picked it up today. Playing through Ico first as that's the only game I haven't played between the two. So far it's pretty good, I'm impressed at how good it looks for a game that came out in 2001.

I already own (and beat) both on PS2, so I just rented it from GameFly.

It arrived last night, I watched almost all of the supplemental material. Then I beat the first colossi and decided to Keep the game.

If you're on the fence, let me quell your fears: GET IT! SotC looks utterly gorgeous in HD, better than most PS3 games if I say so myself. I thought the framerate increase would be annoying considering I thought the stuttering framerate on PS2 helped the game be that much more cinematic during intense moments, but the game definitely is better looking at a buttery smooth, 60FPS.
They're not 60fps, they're locked at 30fps.

Apart from that though, what supplemental material? I thought that was only via the download code that hasn't unlocked yet?
No idea about this code. Remember, I only got the disc from gamefly, waiting for them to send me the case and inserts. When I put the disc in, there were two disc icons on the XMB, one for the game and the other had 7 or so videos of interviews and early concept videos.

The disk contains potassium benzoate........

I finally got my copy. Arrived in the mail a little while ago.

Now I just have to hope they live up to the hype.

I'm surprised at how much better Shadow of the Colossus looks in HD. It's graphics were good before but damn.

Also I've recently beaten ICO for the first time and thought it was great. It was a little bit on the short side in terms of length, but everything else about it is great.

I am actually buying a PS3 for this. believe it or not.
my own copy of shadow of the colossus stopped working a year ago (ico still works fine though)

I never thought I'd buy a console because of a re-release
well i guess this helped too

Yep, I picked mine up on release day! I've only had a bit of time to just check out to see what the graphics for Shadow of the Colossus looks like, but I haven't played it much. It's been a very long time since I've played, especially from the beginning (as in not having increased strength, stamina, etc.), and fighting the first colossus again, I completely suck at it again. Oh well, it's still such a beautiful game.

I'm considering if I want to trade in my PS2 copies of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus now, though. Now that I have the PS3 port, I don't see me going back to the PS2 ones. I'm sure, with the re-release, that they're not worth a whole lot right now, but still. They'll probably just be lying around and collecting dust anyway.

I have a rule for myself: one game at a time. So I'll pick up the pack right after I'm done with Rage.
