And...this.

I've been one the fence about a PS3.
I don't really game as much as I used to and already have a 360/Wii will a huge backlog.

But, still, this collection PLUS the Silent Hill Collection AND The Last Guardian.
I mean, ME-YOW!

It took me 37 mins to get to the first save point in ICO (and I almost missed it but I thought, "sure, let's have a rest"). I wonder if I set some kind of record.

I got the girl out of the cage immediately, and then proceeded to run up and down the stairs looking for a switch or something for about 15-20 mins. Then I finally just grabbed her hand and walked into the doorway thing to get it to open. I had to laugh at my own idiocy there.

It's been all good since then though. Although the controls are a bit finicky at times and caused one "jump right off the edge" death.

Yeah I picked it up in-store before the weekend because a)I wanted to replay them any way and b) My copy of Dark Souls has been delayed in the post somewhere :(

SotC loses something when you have played it before, still brilliant but half the fun was working out how to beat them. When you know all the little tricks and such it becomes a lot easier to do. Time Trials are still fun though.

I am actually buying a PS3 for this. Believe it or not.
my own copy of shadow of the colossus stopped working a year ago (ico still works fine though)

I never thought I'd buy a console because of a re-release
well i guess this helped too
I have to admit, that video must be one of the best ones I have ever saw, they did Cole from Infamous pretty nice (Even though I think Jason Statham would be great too).

Also, I picked it up, and Im stuck on the third boss, I cant find a place to climb up to his head or stomach, *sadface*.

ICO hates me. I can't for the life of me figure out what to do.

Fighting the urge to check GameFAQs, but I've run around for 30 mins and gotten nowhere.

Agreed. I'm in the exactly same boat. Half-assing about 5-10 games between my Wii and Xbox currently. And yet, I still feel like I'm losing out on the exclusives. The Silent Hill games were a huge part of my childhood, too.

Not to mention early Final Fantasy games...

Got the collection in the mail at the 28th. (Yeah, suck it)

Just gotten to play Shadow of the Colossus yet, but it completely holds up, and I'm exited to start off with Ico when SotC is completed.
Should mention that I've never played either before, and so far, I'm not at all disappointed. (Never had too many games for the PS2)

This shows that all the millions of dollars put into HD graphics doesn't do for shit, compared to good execution, when last generation games is sufficient, with a little remastering. Sure, the lizard animations are really outdated, but it's just minor things like that, that really reminds you that the game is more than half a decade old.

EDIT: On the issue of PS2 games I never got to play, (at least finish) I'm also picking up the Silent Hill Collection in about two weeks.

Just picked it up on thursday, actually. I loved SoTC, and I've heard a lot of good things about ICO.

Can't wait to have some free time to play them. :p

I'm past it now, but:

It was the part near the beginning where you have to get Yorda across a gap to a door on the other side. I'd knocked down the chandelier and I'd figured out that I could light my stick on fire, and that I somehow had to knock the bridge down... but I couldn't figure out what the hell I had to do.

I tried to light the barrels on fire but that didn't work. I hadn't even realised that the bombs outside the room were bombs, the 10 times I'd walked past them.

Every single time I start playing ICO I have to stop and listen to the music on the select game screen for 5+ mins. It's just that good.

I've played it for 6 hours so far (it keeps taking me a while to figure things out so I think it'll last me longer than most). The combat is awful. It's tolerable now that I have something better than the block of wood, but yeah -- not good. Controls feel a bit "digitial" and that too can be annoying. And Princess Dumbass has twice decided to get within two rungs of the bottom of a very tall ladder (where I'm waiting) and then proceed to stop and go all the way back up.

All that said, I am enjoying it. It looks great (more aesthetically than technically), the music is obviously fantastic, and just exploring and experiencing the world you're in is a great experience. The puzzle elements feel satisfying to figure out, even if they have a habit of confounding me for 10-20 mins first.

EDIT/ADD: Finished it in just short of 9 hours. Well worth playing and having in my collection.

Now I either try to finish Shadow of the Colossus before Dark Souls arrives (import) or wait a while before playing that. Tough call.
