They make it bad because it makes the rest of the game pointless.

You see that's the frame of mind I don't get. I played through the game because I enjoyed playing trough it not because I was hoping for a reward in the guise of a good ending. I enjoyed playing through the game a bad ending doesn't change the fact that I enjoyed playing the game. I don't get it, it's not a frame of mind I can understand.
