They've made it abundantly clear that they won't be taking out the retarded parts.

They'll be adding extra content in the form of cutscenes and dialogue that "clarifies" the ending (whatever that means) and reflects the player's choices over the corse of the game (allegedly).

In other words, they'll only be un-fucking the ending halfway.

I feel that it'll be better than nothing, but also that they'll be missing an opportunity.

PS. Anyone else notice that Casey Hudson (project director) and Mac Walter (lead writer) have been keeping their heads reeeeeeally low? Rumour has it that they were the ones responsibe for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

It will suck.
It will "clarify" the ending. But I understood the ending just fine, it just so happens that it sucked. The only way to fix it is to completely rewrite the ending.

And I don't care what the Extended Cut says, the universe is doomed, mass starvation and cannibalism for everyone!

I think the damage has been done and whatever the extended cut shows will not make a difference.

I'm still pissed because of the ending. I absolutely loved Mass Effect (the universe, the story, the characters) before they decided to take a giant crap all over it. It could have been one of the greatest trilogies. Instead, it's one of the biggest failures of gaming industry. And they managed to ruin it in 10 minutes flat. That would be amazing if it wasn't so fuckin' tragic. Stupid starchild.

Damage is already done, with 15mins of shitty writing Bioware managed to destroy a brilliant franchise and ensure they have one less person in the world who will ever buy another game with their name on it.
The wording of the 'extended ending' description indicates they are not going to fix the total piece of excrement that was the ending of ME3.

I was interested to see what it was going to be but my feelings about ME3 have long since evaporated into nothing.

I don't even own the game anymore, got rid of it weeks ago.

I'll be delighted.
Luckily, I'm not one of those people who shit their pants over the ending, so any addition/extension will be good news for me.

I don't care anymore. Nothing i've heard makes it sound like it'll really be compensation for that fiasco. I'll download and try it, but Bioware earns a big MEH from me.

Never thought i'd live to see the day, neither...

I will watch it on YouTube before I even decide on buying. It if makes it so my Shepard and Tali get back together then I MIGHT get it just so I can have a slightly happy ending, but other aspects like player choices will still be important.

I know, but I would rather know it's good first rather than wasting time downloading it then playing through the ending again just to see it.

I don't see how anything short of a total rewrite will make me happy.

I also don't see them doing a total rewrite, since it would involve Bioware basically admitting they made a gigantic mess of the whole thing in the first place. So I'll download it, play it, and probably still be shaking my head in disappointment afterwards.

I just had a scary thought though: while I don't see how they're going to make the ending better, I can see at least a dozen different ways they could make it worse with this DLC... :p

yupp this, the existence of that piece of shit retroactively ruined so much of the logic and plot from the first two games, not to mention everything adds up to literally meaning nothing even though they promised NOT to do endings "a,b,c" which aren't even that, they are just different shades of shit.

I recently did an upgrade and so a fresh install of everything.

I've probably put in ~300 hours into the Mass Effect series.

I doubt I will bother reinstalling ME3 for the free DLC, that's how little I care now.

I still haven't got any interest towards Mass Effect games, but this whole huge deal about the trilogy's ending(s) is ridiculous. They screwed up and now they're fixing it, kind of, which is appropriate yet expected under the pressure, but the whole deal is something else.

Well, if things work out the way I expect they will I'll be taking my discs to a local construction site, covering them in lighter fluid and setting them ablaze. Once they've finished smoldering, I'll piss on the ashes and then move on with my life.

And in all probability invest less in games in the future.

Oh, and "cumming" and "coming" are very separate words OP. Just FYI.
