So you just overwrote your only save game when you tried to load it

It's happened a few times, i just don't remember when...maybe it's happened that many times.

I keep at least 3 saves at all times. There's the auto save, the hard copy save that involves you going to the same menu, then there's the quick save.

Crusader: No Remorse.

Final level, tense battle in a room full of mechs and security, rollin' and gunnin'. I earn a quiet moment and tap what I think is the quick save button with a sigh of relief. Next thing I know, I'm stepping off the teleport pad again, level 1.

Shit.

Not quite the same as overwriting an important save. But in the same vein.

The third Spyro game back in the day, I remember it well... The ultimate irony is that I was actually trying to copy the save to back it up to another memory card when I ended up wiping the entire thing.

One last egg and I was finished! One damn egg

Some wounds just don't heal...

I've overwritten the wrong save a couple times, but FAR less times than I've gone too long without saving then died stupidly. Usually in games like fallout where the autosave doesn't seem to trigger at every area transition. (is that just me?)

I did this during Ninja Gaiden 1 right before the boss battle with the giant skeletal dinosaur. Saved right prior to the battle with no health items and way to go back. My only saving grace was the bats. Took me like 2 days to beat that stupid thing...

ah i learned this at a very very young age...don't be greedy about saves, save the piss out of everything all the time and never overwrite.

shit there are multiple games where in a single playthrough i have over a thousand saves(i probably should go back and clean up those games..)

Did it on Fallout 3, at the mad preacher who likes to blow you up if he sees you. Every time I loaded...BOOM. And I had no other saves.
