Well in the past I usually just stay quiet and look from a distance. With the exception of one girl from back in high school. I didn't actually go out with her, but I did tell her how I felt.

I'd imagine that next time this kind of thing happens I'll actually have the balls to go up and talk to them.

Oh no you misunderstood me. I wasn't telling you not to ask for advice, I was giving tips on how to tell someone you like them. :) Plus that was my facetious nature rearing its ugly head, lol.

Everything I put wasn't directed at you, just tips in general.
OK then, sorry about that. Mis-understanding
NP, I can be misleading/unclear with my posts sometimes.

Well first I'd go to a psychiatrist to see why my sexuality has changed.
No but seriously - I'd probably invite her and a couple of her or my own friends out, and drink until I can tell her my feelings, then if I still remember in the morning, I'll make sure I confirm it with her and explain I was too scared to tell otherwise.

I make sure I like her first (be friends for a little bit) and if that's an affirmative i'll ask her out.

Well first I would wonder why I suddenly like women. (You have to keep in mind, it's not just guys on this website ;_;) >_<
But anyway, I suppose I'm a bit of a wimp. I haven't been in this situation for a while, but I always do it online~ MSN, Facebook etc. Spose I'm too scared of rejection face to face. I'd probably cry a bit too if they turned me down. /:
I wouldn't mind if a guy told me online too. Some stranger asked for my number on the bus. i can tell you I jumped off the next stop and raced straight to work.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

When it comes to talking with women I like, I talk to them no differently than I would a friend, or some random stranger that happens to be standing/sitting next to me when I think of something interesting/useful/funny to say. After we spend enough time together at work/some other social event and talk/do stuff, I ask her out. My view on relationships is that they should just "happen." It shouldn't be something that's forced (if the only reason you're talking to her is because you want a relationship with her, something's wrong).

Of course, this is just my personal viewpoint, and probably something that shouldn't be forced upon others. It may be worth noting that I've never had a girlfriend before.

sneak your way into her life, and if it goes well for both, I make a subtle move. It worked 1/1, so it's really the only way for me to try. if it fails I'll try something else.

Get to know the person as a friend, hang out, see if you're really compatible or if you're just smitten/physically attracted. Then ask them! Don't be shy. :) The worst they can do is say no.

Certainly don't languish about this. Letting it sit and boil around a bit, means that if you get rejected, you'll probably feel way more impacted than otherwise, even though you only met the girl/guy (short length of time) ago.

Reading this thread makes me realize how I've dismally failed at telling a girl I like her.

I was forced to tell her over a text due to distance reasons among other things.

Always go for face to face if possible.

How do you deal with it? Do you tell them face to face or over text? Do you go for it and ask them out, or keep it quiet and hope they like you as well? What have you done in the past?

Share tales and experiences and tips as well if you want to :)
When I find another woman attractive, I usually mention in casual conversation that my spouse and I have an open marriage and enjoy threesomes (and foursomes).

No, I am not kidding.

You'd be surprised how often that technique works. ^^
Why can't I have nice people like you in my neighborhood? D:

*Ahem*

OT: Chloroform. After all, it induces so much chemical emotion that they just orgasm into a state of unconsciousness. Or, at least, that's what I tell myself..

Tell them upfront, with a handy application of wine/alcohol handy somewhere nearby, nice music, and video games dinner. Unfortunately, I royally fucked up the first encounter with a girl I liked in this situation, so sad panda.

I should have gone to the internet sooner!

I have to do it face-to-face, if I actually do it. Honestly, I try to find out as much about the person as possible (e.g. "Is she single?").

Like the girl I currently have affection for. Met at a party, hit it off well. Kept hanging out and became quite close in a very short amount of time. And then I found out she had a boyfriend. I kept my mouth shut for almost two months before finally, last night, I told her how I felt. It did not go to shit at least, but...not quite the way I wanted it to go though. We are still good friends at least.

I think you accidentally a verb.

OT: Tell her face to face. Like a Bawss. Also, try not to be too needy and stuff.
