You know, this has actually happened to me. Had a tumor growing out of a vein in my neck (it's actually incredibly common, just not normally on your neck) that broke open pretty easily.

Woke up one morning to find my entire pillow and a good bit of my sheets blood-soaked, and had another good amount caked all over my neck, ear, and shoulder.
