You're all daft. If I was to take one thing out of my house I would take the FIRE out.

Problem solved.

from experience i can say that the only regret i had when my dwelling burned down was that i forgot to save the fish. because of my neglect, they all boiled to death. :/

Probably my grandfather's .22. There are many things in my apartment that are more valuable, but none more important.

Well, assuming that I had already grabbed some of the small things I could shove in my pocket and laptop, I would probably grab the box I keep some of my valuable in. Sure most of the cap in there is in fact crap to most other people, but I do have some money in there as well as some other things that are of at least some value.

Obvious response. My Computer, and maybe my wallet. That's about it.
Mostly this...

Buuuuuut If you're going to let me get really poncey and meta about it I'd remove the air from my house.
Without oxygen the fire will go right out.

But of things I could conceivably carry I'd save my PC

Believe we have a folder full of important documents somewhere(gotta check tomorrow). Would definetly grab that first.
After that the few photo albums we have and if I can still carry more I'd grab my PC.

I'd grab my Dresden Files novels and as much of my sister's artwork as I possibly could. She's drawn covers for a lot of my unpublished, unfinished stories, and they're all really cool. Oh, and the decorated towel I use to celebrate Towel Day. It would be a ***** to draw that recursive "42" again...

I'd let the computer burn, though. It's a low-end piece of shit and I think the modem's going bad. Let the insurance cover my new gaming rig. I'll be playing Minecraft on maximum graphics settings in the homeless shelter.

My NAS drive, it's my network storage/backup, not big either, then my laptop under 1 arm and my PS4 under the other. The rest I can replace as the house is fully insured, however the data on the NAS is not replaceable and I need my laptop for gaming away from home , the PS4 is the principle of the thing/because I can :p

Comic collection... and, if I have enough time... all my figurines....

I'd probably punch a hole in the fly-screen of my window and then jump out that way to safety...

In which case I might even be able to take my desktop with me...

But that happens to be the order in which I would empty my room...

Well, including the bag holding all my handhelds... (3DS/Vita/GBA/etc/etc) But that sits on my bedside table so it'd be pretty hard to miss....

Now that I think about it I'd also want to take my collection of posters too...

MY POSSESSIONS WILL LIVE AND I WILL BURN IN THE FIRE

SAVE THEM! SAVE THEM ALL!

When my old place caught fire, I didn't have any choice. I have thought about it a lot as a result.

My first stop would be wallet/meds/phone. Next would be my Flash drive and external HDD. Almost everything else on my PC is replaceable. other things (in order):

Guitars
Kindle (I use this more than anything but my phone)
Clothes (Enough for a day or two)
Notebook (at least I cold keep writing)
Keyboard
PC (I could make due with my notebook, but my PC is still better for everything but space).

If I really had a lot of time, I might go for other things. But honestly, I might not even bother with my PC depending on the severity. Everything else I could take in a maximum of two trips (keyboard would be the exception).

Other than what are considered basic needs like clothing and money to buy stuff, I really would need things to create with to keep myself sane while I rebuilt/dealt with insurance/whatever. And reading. If I don't do both routinely, I get...Itchy.

Since the insurance would cover everything there's just one item that i'd try to safe, i wouldn't care about the rest.

My oldest (and only remaining) plushie. Nowadays it sits somewhere on a shelf, but i got this basically a few weeks after i was born and my grand-grand mother repaired & redressed it so it's 1.) nearly as old as i am 2.) One of the last remainders of my grand-grand mother.

Jeah, i'd go through fire for that :)

My external hard drive would be the main thing. It has backups of all my writing work, my music and my... other, stuff. It's easy enough to pick up and run with too, so that helps. I'd also grab my compilation book of all the original Conan stories by Robert E. Howard, simply because the thing is too fucking expensive to replace afterwards. I would like to grab my PC as well, but I fear too much time would be spent fumbling with the mess of cords and wires at the back, so I think it'd be safer to abandon it.

My guitar and my laptop. I love my nice guitar because I had to save up for months for that thing and it's the Les Paul custom of one of my favourite guitarists :D
It's the sexy six string

Man...

I have to say I would save my fathers urn and the picture thats with it from the fire, but after that I would say my signed picture of Joe Kucan (Kane from Command and COnquer) and thenfinally my hard drives.
I forgot about my signed photo of Kane, I'd grab that as well as well as a few other collectables, problem is there's too much for the time given :-(

Most likely Laptop or WiiU
I think Laptop...
If I'd have to run in and choose, if I don't need to go back in I wont.
