Smugleaf was the name that fans gave to him before there was an English name. Snivy is just... terrible comparatively... So sad...

Trust me, I know how you feel. Kojondo, give our new friend a hanky. And, wtf is Conkeldurr? Seriously, I get Timburr and Gurdurr, Why not Pilldurr (referencing the pillar it's holding) or Conkredurr (what it should have been, referencing concrete)...
Then again, for every dumb-ish rename like "snivy" or "conkeldurr", there is a much better English name like Haxorus or Sawsbuck...

But that's a whole other thread topic...

Ivysaur was the first one which came up in my mind. Flowers and pure awesome, what more could you ask for? I do wonder why people think picking a legendary pokemon would be interesting. Where is the fun in the journey if you know you are going to win everything easily.

I choose you Arceus! It can learn any move except roost and moves you can't get TMs for. Therefore, I can fly, surf, and rock smash my way through anything and then swap out those moves for ones i need in pokemon battles whenever I need to. HA!

Gyarados. Pure fucking rage! Plus he can learn water, fire, electric and ice moves (for some unexplained reason) making it practical as well as epicly brutal and destructive.

I'm not kidding give him the TM for Fire Blast, Flamethrower and Thunder and he'll learn it. No idea why, I guess being a dragon type overrides the whole water thing.
