"hmmm only if you sit with me baby." Alex said kissing on Richard and giggling moving her hand to cup Richard. "I'm not that drunk." Alex said. Her mind was racing with ideas of what to do while at the same time her sober side was trying to get back into control.

"God I love you Richard. When I met you I couldn't help but look you over and I loved what I saw in the lower part of your body." Alex said into his ear.

Tyson watched Jason's prancing and yelling for a minute or so before Leland called him over to finish off the cake. Tyson walked over picking up the tube of gel icing and unscrewed its cap. Being as careful as possible Tyson wrote out
Code:
Happy Birthday Tommy!
Tyson screwed the cap back on and turned to Leland and said, "There you go, all finished. Now not to rush things but if its going to get eaten I suggest it be soon while most of us are still able to."

After he finished his words with Leland, Jason stopped his antics and asked what happened. "You were a dumbass and didn't read the effects of the liquor you drank. I said no drinking anything dangerous and yet you didn't even check the side effects. For the record it caused you to act like a character from your favourite T.V. show or movie. I'm not familiar with what show that was but you could probably identify it when we do a highlight real of today." Tyson anwsered starting out serious before moving to humorous.

The freakish congregation gathered around the oak wood table to commence the rituals of a new solar journey.  First the sacrificial pastry was placed at the center, then it's fleshed gouged with twenty and one candles.  Twenty and one wicks were scorched to flames, to commemorate solar journeys past,  and another added for the trials ahead.  As the pigmented wax bubble and dripped under it's own heat, the congregation commenced the caliginous canticle of commemoration.   Once the crepuscular carol was terminated, their was silence.
With one swift puff, the life was snuffed from all twenty and two candles, whilst aspirations of avarice were muttered under breath.  With the wicked edge of the ceremonial knife the sion of Stitch carved the spectrum flesh of the sacrifice.  The first portion was offered to the sion of Claidt, the to the others.  The congregation devoured the striped offerings and soon it was time to placate the essence of Leviathan.

" All right time for presents! Hell ya!" Tommy exclaimed as he jumped on the coach.

"Yay presents!" Leland called out cheerfully as he jumped onto the couch next to Tommy, looking excitedly at the table of presents as he tried to find the one he had for Tommy.

Then it hit him.

"Oh duh! Hey Tommy, uhhh I already told you that I don't really have a present for you...but that I can totally get you whatever you want! You just have to tell me what you want. Sorry about not actually having one physically here for you right now, but if you can think of anything I can get it for you relatively quickly," Leland explained with guilt and embarrassment, adding that it had to be somewhat reasonable of a request.

"Well if no one else is going to start than I will," Garrus said as he grabbed the birthday card off the table and handed it to Tommy, "From myself and Renton...you can probably figure out his writing. Basically you get to choose what's for dinner tonight! Whatever you want...as long as it's relatively reasonable, ya know? Or at least physically possible."

Tyson watched Tommy blow out the candles after joining in a round of the traditional happy birthday. After eating his portion of the cake Tommy sat down for the presents. After watching Garrus and Leland not really give Tommy presents that were more like favours; Tyson decided that his present would look better if he gave it to Tommy now.

"Don't worry man. I have something for you that's right here." Tyson said as he walked over to the table with the presents on it and picked up his oddly shaped present. I hope this gold covered gem embedded Inca statue isn't too tacky. Tyson picked up his present for Tommy and walked it over to the coach beside him and handed it to him. "I hope you like it. I found it after a jaguar attacked me in a Peru jungle so if you find any blood on it don't be surprised." Tyson said with a smile.

"Hmm, alright, uhm I'm not sure, about that, I already asked Katie for a 3DS, I'll think of something later Leland." Tommy told him before turning to Garrus.

"Uh, how about burgers, it's been a long time since I had a really good hamburger." Tommy realized this might be an insult to Garrus's formidable cooking skills, but he really wanted a burger.

Tommy then unwrapped Tyson's present, it wasn't magically enchanted, but it had a certain gravity about it, it was easily to find yourself staring into it's eyes. Having been around central-american artifacts all through high-school he was able to tell it was authentic.

" Wow, thanks Tyson, I remember my history teacher back in High School had one like this, I always wanted one for myself." He said before putting the statue back on the table.

Levi was never one for the traditional singing of "Happy Birthday", as he always found it awkward. Nonetheless, he contributed somewhat timidly to the jovial round; he had always been insecure about his non-existent singing talents. After Tommy blew out the candles, he received his portion of the very delicious looking cake and began to pick at it with a plastic fork. As usual, Leland didn't disappoint.

Taking a seat on another one of the nearby couches, Levi watched as Tommy opened his first present: a Central American themed statue. He wasn't very well learned in archeology or the history of that region, so he wasn't quite sure what exactly it was. Tyson's story about a fight with a jaguar in Peru was definitely an eyebrow raiser. Levi made a note to ask him about it later; something told him that it was an interesting story indeed. He'd believe it if the well-built man had fought a jaguar hand-to-hand and lived.

Despite having helped decorate the cake Taryn wasn't really interested in having any herself. So while some of the other team members enjoyed the confectionery creation she wandered over to the gifts table. She waited until Tyson retrieved his gift before picking up the box containing her and Levi's gift. It wasn't heavy or really very big. But it was expertly wrapped. Taryn lifted the box up so that she could navigate around the couches. She surveyed the seated team members until she found Levi and then Tommy. She approached the birthday boy slowly.

"This is from Levi and me." Taryn explained to Tommy. She sat the box down next to him on the couch, then gestured to where Levi was sitting. 'I hope it fits.' she added mentally. After making sure the box wasn't going to fall Taryn smiled and retreated to the couch on which Levi was seated. She wanted to explain the item before Tommy even opened it, but she refrained. No sense in spoiling the surprise. And there was an instruction booklet after all. Complete with alternate language options. Which was partially an excuse for Taryn to test out her newest printer's capabilities. It turned out that it could print Greek quite well.

Jason and Marrissa made themselves comfortable on the couch, the two easily devouring the multi-colored confectionery as they looked on, admiring the few gifts that were presented. As Taryn took her seat, Marrissa rose, mouth half full as she made her way towards the gift table.

"Ooh, after opening theirs, open ours next!" She eagerly suggested as she stepped towards the metal attaché case nestled betwixt the assortment of other gifts generously offered by the other members. Walking back towards him, she plopped the case down on his lap before taking her seat.

"My friend says that you're guaranteed to like them. Honestly, I believe him." Jason added as he finished his slice of cake.

Richard had sung happy birthday with the rest of the group before sitting on the couch with Alex, making sure she didn't do anything she shouldn't be as he watched Tommy open his gifts. He didn't take any of the cake just yet, excusing himself by saying he would need both hands to make sure Alex didn't do anything perverted in her drunken state.

He looked over the stone, wondering just what it was. Obviously Mezo-American, but what it was for exactly was a bit of a mystery. Then there would be the question of which culture had that particular piece.

Tommy unwrapped Taryn and Levi's gift and held up to check it out. It seemed to be a leather vest, just like the one he usually wore when he was on missions, but he could feel with just his fingers that this was significantly tougher.

"Cool, thanks guys." He placed the vest on the Coffee table, ignoring the literature for a moment.

Next Tommy opened the box Jason gave him, "Hmm, brass-knuckles, I guess my gauntlets are pretty bulky, so I can carry these around all the time." As Tommy was examining them he noticed his family's symbol on them, as he pass his thumbs over he pressed them down he activated them, and they turned into gauntlets. Immediately a giant smile cracked over his face.

"Ooh, nice." He said, nodding his head as he moved his fingers around to get a feel for the gauntlets. "Uh, how to I get these off now?"

Having taken a seat on the floor at Leland's feet, Katie giggled a little at Tommy's gauntlet problem. She figured if he hadn't received a weapon, she could have gotten him one. There was that set of identical knives she'd gotten everyone for Christmas... but those were more decorative pieces than weapons she wanted the Society to use in combat. Everyone had their own natural gifts or talents... or a giant suit of powered armour with guns and blades and whatnot.

Katie got up and retrieved the only gift that wasn't wrapped and set it down near Tommy before moving around the couch and back to Leland. Technically the gift was wrapped up, but not in wrapping paper or anything; as the note read, Katie didn't really feel like wrapping the boxes at the time. For a change of pace, she sat down in her boyfriend's lap instead of taking a proper seat herself.

At the sight of all the gifts on the table, Rowan realised he hadn't gotten Tommy anything. It was a bit of a stupid move on his part... but then, he hadn't known until that day and he'd spent a fair bit of time with Sabrina instead of looking for something to get as a present. "Um, Tommy? I, uh... didn't get you anything. Sorry, man, but will you take an IOU?" he asked sheepishly, a hint of apology in his tone.

Tommy seemed to be pleased with the vest, which made Levi grin with a hint of satisfaction. He and Taryn had spent a decent amount of time installing the high-tech modifications and perfecting them, so it was a good feeling to see him happy. Actually, on the thought of the modifications...

"Hey Tommy," Levi interjected. "That's not just an ordinary vest. It's also got a vital signs monitor that alerts you to any life-threatening anomalies, a GPS tracking system to keep track of your location, and a temperature control system so it always stays comfortable to wear," he explained, careful not to sound too wordy in his description of the vest.

"That is a pretty cool vest..." Erebus remarked, Jason nodding in agreement as Tommy asked the question regarding taking the gauntlets off, realizing that he never asked Felix how to do so.

"You don't. They'll stay on forever!" She joked, complete with a pseudo-evil laugh.

"I dunno Mar...it didn't do that for me when I tried them on. Maybe it responds to the brainwaves? Try thinking about taking them off. Maybe that might work. I would be more certain about this theory, but i'm so used to taking biologically-integrated armor on and off, that it's now more of a instinct to me than a thought." Jason suggested.

"Yup. Years of training'll do that." Marrissa added nonchalantly as she went for another piece of cake.

"Thanks Katie," Tommy handled the box he gave her with care before setting it down, he looked forward to getting to play with it once he was done. "Geez, you and Leland better hope I don't spot something expensive and unique." He told Rowan.

Once Levi explained all of the vest's features Tommy, " Finally I can stop spending fifty buck after my vest get's ruined in every fight."

Finally Tommy took Jason's advice, and thought about the gauntlets turning back into knuckle dusters, and sure enough they did. "Sweet."

Taryn was pleased that Tommy liked his gift. She hoped that it would last for quite a while. It was designed to, but testing and actual wear-and-tear usage were two different things. While the birthday boy's attention was his new gloves Taryn stood up and carefully made her way to the kitchen. She bypassed the magical drinks left on the counter and began hunting through the cabinets for the alcoholic, but non-magical, beverages. Though at this point she was just thirsty. Perhaps normal soda would do. Taryn paused with one of the cabinet doors held open. 'Might as well get some non-magical options out on the counter.' she decided.

Levi quietly stood from his seat shortly after Taryn left and followed her into the kitchen. He was sure that their presence wouldn't necessarily be missed, as the others didn't seem to notice his departure. In any case, he was also somewhat curious as to why Taryn had left. He soon had his answer when he caught up to her. Taryn was looking into one of the cabinets, apparently searching for something.

"Hey there," Levi said, coming to a stop beside her. He peered into the cabinet and noticed the plethora of drinks inside. More importantly, non-magical drinks. Drinks that didn't have a freaky side-effect. Normal drinks. "What are you getting?" he asked. Although he had consumed a bit more alcohol than he was comfortable with thus far today, Levi was willing to have just a little more if it meant drinking with Taryn.

"Hey." Taryn replied quietly. She pulled a few tinted glass bottles from the cabinet and set them down on the counter. "Different things. I'm not quite sure what I want yet." she explained. Then an idea struck Taryn. She looked at the bottle that was still in her hand, then put it back into the cabinet and grabbed a second bottle that was further back. This bottle was smaller and made of clear glass.
Code:
Chambord
was stamped boldly on the gold label wrapped around the rounded container's middle. Now hunting for a glass to drink out of, Taryn glanced at Levi. "Could you do me a favor?" she asked with a slight grin. "Could you get a can of Dr. Pepper out of the fridge? Two, if you'd like some of...this." 'And I remember correctly.'

"Yeah, no problem," responded Levi, bearing a smile of his own. With that, he headed over to the refrigerator and opened the door. He quickly scanned the inside for the familiar red soda cans. It did not take long for Levi to spot the six-pack sitting on the shelf. He grabbed two of the cold cans, placing one in each hand before closing the door to the fridge with his elbow. Heading back to Taryn, who was was now rummaging through another cabinet, he placed the cans down on the counter in front of her.

"Here you go," Levi said, leaning against the counter. The bottle that Taryn had selected from the liquor cabinet was an interesting one. He didn't recognize the name or the shape of the bottle. "So, uh...what is it exactly that you're making?" Levi asked curiously.

"Thanks. I think it's called Dr. Raspberry. Officially. I just used to call it my Post Server-Upgrade Celebration. Thought it sounded better." Taryn replied. She set two glasses on the counter and picked up the bottle of liqueur. "It almost made up for the double-shifts and unpaid overtime." she continued quietly while twisting off the lid of the bottle and setting it on the counter. The ingredients were simple, since there were only two. It was two parts of one, and one part of another.

But it had been a long time since she'd had one of these drinks. To double check the recipe, Taryn stuck her free hand into her pocket and wrapped her fingers around her phone for a few seconds. The built in browser quickly revealed what she was looking for.

Code:
1 part Chambord® raspberry liqueur
2 parts Dr. Pepper® soda
'Ah, good, I was right.' she thought. Taryn snapped open the two cans of soda and began combining the soda and alcohol into the two glasses. While she was pouring she eyed the silverware drawer. She was missing a spoon to stir with.
