Someone calls you 'gay' as an insult, what's your response/thoughts?

Normally its a friend that will say something like that and in that instance my usual response is to retort with "but you love it sweetie" and place my hand on their knee or if we're standing gently stroke their arm. It freaks them out, with exception of one of them who will then up the ante... this is dubbed a 'gay off' the loser is the one to finally break.

Well, this happens A LOT in MW2 game lobbies and I just say, "Hey guys, instead of calling eachother names and blasting 'yo mama' jokes from the 90s, how about you just prove who is better by shooting them in the face?" This however usually gets a "shut the fuck up ******" from those people but at least I give them something to consider.
