The Leviathan is a Biblical sea monster from old testament.Scarim Coral said:It pretty cool but what is the Leviathan? I mean this was under the video "Proof of Concept/pitch for The Leviathan, created by Ruairi Robinson." Is The Leviathan based on a book or something?
It means it's an idea he has for a feature film, and he doesn't have the money to make all of it. So he makes this short film in the hopes that it impresses some film studios. "The Leviathan" is presumably the name of the film.Scarim Coral said:It pretty cool but what is the Leviathan? Heh. Couldn't resist.albino boo said:Dick in space.
From the little discription at the beginning I can only assume these guys are like slave labor whose job it is to collect the eggs of these creatures. Forced to do this dangerous work to keep the current space faring society going. Comparable I guess to miners today.Dansen said:Its a cool little sequence, but I don't get it. What is going on?
Are they supposed to be space whalers or something?
Dick in space is the Shia LaBeouf space programme. Ruairi is the Irish spelling of Rory.Frezzato said:Just how do you pronounce 'Ruairi' anyway? "Roar-ree"? "Rare-y"?

.
I quite like Roo-ray's other short films, especially since he somehow managed to get Cillian Murphy to star in his shorts.
Heh.
I also liked The Last Days on Mars if anyone feels like supporting Roo-rah's directing endeavors.
Yeah the creature looks like the asteroid space worm thing from Star Wars (I refuse to call it a new hope, its bloody star wars)Casual Shinji said:Not so sure about the creature design, but the ships look fantastic. Love those bulky space ships!
Hmm... except you're thinking of Empire, aren't you?albino boo said:Yeah the creature looks like the asteroid space worm thing from Star Wars (I refuse to call it a new hope, its bloody star wars)
Mind = blown.albino boo said:Ruairi is the Irish spelling of Rory.
Yes, but it is sci-fi. It's just an allegory or metaphor or something.Signa said:So they have to hunt Budongs to get FTL travel. Ok.
I mean, I guess if there is some sort of biological process that creates the fuel, it can make sense, but it sounds a little silly getting egg protein to make fuel.
Aye it is, but it's pronounced differently, Rua-ree would be closer to how it is pronounced, and also, it is a Gaelic name, Irish/Scottish so it would be correct to say that Rory is the Anglicised version of RuarĆ/Ruairidh.albino boo said:Ruairi is the Irish spelling of Rory.
