Reverse the genders and yeah, that happened once. He wasn't even an asshole, just the most stupid and incredibly boring person I've ever met.

Same here. This exact thing happened to me a few months back. After being single for 5 years I finally met a girl who I genuinely fell for. We'd spend ages talking each night over msn, and would regularly meet up for movie nights, but it never went beyond friendship, mainly because I was being too cautious and didn't want to rush things and fuck everything up. Then she meets him >.> .

Some douche called Mike. She went to spend a week with him during a half term holiday and when she came back, they were together. I was devestated, and still am, because I just can't get over her. And the annoying part is she actualy realises that he's often quite a douche, both to her and others. But will she dump him? Nooooo! It's infuriating.

I only hope she comes to her senses and dumps him, sooner rather than later.

I brought up Major_Sam, as I know she's a huge Star Wars nerd.
He said he'd been figured out, I made a joke, then I forgot all about it.

Then you brought her up and said she was taken, and I remembered it and put everything together.

Then I was a little embarrassed for not getting it in the first place.

Glad I'm not the only one who remembered that.

Her name is Julia, and while we talked a few times on the commute to School (I work there, though not as a teacher, and she studies there) I'm not entirely sure if she likes me in return.

We both act kind of awkward around each other, so in a way that may be a good sign.
My main concern is the fact that I'm 9 years older than her.

I do believe I'm in love with her though, for the first time in almost 5 years.

Well, I had one person from primary school. She was my age, beautiful, funny, extremely clever, kind...I could easily go on. I was crushing all over her. Last day of the last year of primary school (after that day she was going to a different school than me), I left a letter explaining my feelings in her bag along with a box of chocolates. Unfortunately she found it before the end of the day, and took it quite badly. Seems she wasn't really that interested in me after all lol. So yeah, still think of her a lot, but not spoken a word to her in 3 years even when I have seen her. The memory of her has kind of stopped me from getting any other girlfriends. Ah well, life goes on.

EDIT: Just a thought, does anyone here actually know her? Her name's Emma De'ath, and she lives in Kent.
