Well, there's a few anime. One that sticks out in particular is Mawaru Penguindrum.

It seems that 99.9% of the people who watches it ends up loving it. I, on the other hand, hate it with a goddamn passion. Don't even get me started with it, otherwise I just wouldn't be able to stop. After that I watched Mushishi and Kino's Journey for the first time, which really helped, because I was really angry at Penguin Drum.

As the title says folks, just list whatever beloved-by-the-majority thing that might as well be nails on a chalkboard for you and why you loathe it with a brick chucking rage.
Buffy the fucking, bat-buggering Vampire Slayer. I've *tried* watching it. I didn't like it. I didn't like it with a goat, I didn't like it in a moat. Etc.

I genuinely think people have tried to sell me on the wonderfulness of Buffy more often than people have tried to sell me on the wonderfulness of Jesus. And the Jesus people are more likely to shut up when you tell them you're not interested, too. I've been evangelized for Buffy at more parties and dinners-out than I can number, at a religious event (twice-- and during the *ceremony*, not the chatty-feasty part at the end), at my wedding, even once in line at the supermarket. I've been fannish for over 20 years, I've never seen a hard-sell like the hard-sell from Buffy fans. And they act like you punched their kitten if you say you just don't care for it, or Joss Whedon. (Firefly evangelizing comes close, but still isn't quite as bad as the Buffy evangelizing. And that didn't work for me either. If I hadn't loved Avengers, I'd say I'm allergic to All Things Whedon.)

I think if it hadn't been for the rabid fandom, it would simply be a genre show I didn't get into and not something I loathe with a brick-chucking rage. In fact, I think it's *definitely* the fandom, because I didn't loathe the show (actually, I can come up with a lot more things I actively hated about Firefly than about Buffy), it just didn't move me. People refusing to shut up about it made me loathe the show.

James Cameron's Avatar.

Jesus Christ that film was so terrible I wanted to cry. But every single person I knew was totally praising it..I dunno, I didn't watch it in the Cinema, so I couldn't see it in 3D, which was what everybody loved so much..But god damn, that film was bad..
I went with a deaf friend and she said, "I couldn't understand a single word but I knew exactly what was going on. Not sure if that is the mark of a great film or a terrible one."

But yeah, Avatar was awful. Tea is terrible too. Not a fan.

Horror. In games, tv, literature, anywhere.
But seriously, we see all kinds of morbid stuff in real life on the news and around us all the time. Life is already scary enough as it is, so I personally cannot under stand why people go out of their way to try and scare themselves.
Some people simply like the thrill, what's wrong with that?
I think you misunderstood me. I don't necessarily think anything is wrong with it, I just personally don't understand it. I'm simply not of the mentality to find any enjoyment from horror, but I don't think there's anything wrong with people who do.

I hate Queen. More specifically, I hate Freddie Mercury's voice. It feels like nails on a chalkboard in my brain
Are you some kind of space alien or something? I'd willingly sacrifice basically the last ten years worth of popular musicians upon a dark altar to bring Freddie Mercury back to life and cure his AIDS.

MLP and all bronies.

I don't care how nice they are.
I wish I could perform a brain lobotomy on 'em so they don't like ponies anymore.
Sure, most of 'em might lose motor functions and the ability to take care of themselves.
But I'm sure everyone involved would agree that it's much better than leaving them as they are before the operation.
We aren't all nice. Try something like that on me and I'll break both your arms and stab you the fucking heart with your scalpel.

Jesus Christ, lobotomies? Are you fucking serious?

Watchmen. I just don't see the big deal behind this one.
I think with Watchmen you sort of had to 'be there' with comic books at the time. I've read it, I own it indeed, but all I see when I read it is just a superhero comic filled to the brim with arseholes.

Man, you must be lonely, not finding any like-minded people there. Freddie's voice (actually precipitated by the unusual shape of his jawline) was the secret weapon of the band and he knew it.

OT: There's lots of things to hate in the world, both straight up and via snarky comments. For now, I would like to say Bob Dylan...except that he's not loved by 'everybody'. His is a voice you can't compare to Freddie Mercury.

Snapbacks, and those hideous skirts that are short at the front and long at the back.
Also Charlie Sheen and religious debates.

People on various forums who actually say "keelah se'lai". It makes me cringe every time, and people still do it!

Peter Jackson in general and his shitty ass interpretation of Tolkien's work in particular. Read the books, then see if you can stomach the films.

Mass Effect 2. There are several reasons, but the most glaring reason is fucking Thermal Clips.

TV Network Degradation. From MTV to SciFi to Cartoon Network to History Channel to Travel Channel to all other channels that add wrestling to their lineup. Is it really had to imagine why the US is falling so far behind other countries when you consider the shear amount of shit on The LEARNING Channel?
Is it wrong I want to kidney punch whoever decided to put a "Poor spelling is KEWL" slant on Scifi and make it the Syfy channel?

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but haven't we had this thread 15 times already the past 2 or 3 months?

Also, hate is a strong word, it'd be nice if people would stop trying to ruin it.
Would "Loathe with a fiery passion that rivals the blaze of a thousand Charizards" be a better term?
