I am sorry, but Firefly. It was a generic boring show that doesn't deserve 1/1000000 of the praise it receives. Same with Battlestar Galactica.

JUST SAY FUCK DAMNIT
Oh frak off. I'll swear however I gorram want.

OT: Dunno. I absolutely loathe censorship, but I don't think anyone particularly likes that, so that doesn't count.
Oh, I got one. Racing games. I hate racing games and sports games too. Don't know why, but they are just boring as frak to me.

Rap, hate it. So much of it is just the same crap over and over every song. Or annoying as hell and played way to loud.

Horror films/games, I hate them I don't get why people like them so much most of them are tacky and the ones that aren't are few and far between. Plus I'm a bit of a wimp so that doesn't help :p
I was once in the same predicament. Even things that were not in the Horror genre for games or films still scared the crap out of me and I could continue playing/watching them. You just learn to power through as you go on. Hell, you might even enjoy being able to dispense some pain and fear to your adversaries once you've gotten used to the game mechanics or have gotten stronger over time.

OT: Gen 5 Pokemon game. There are a lot of reasons why this is the case, some that may seem obvious to others and some that are a little more subtle that people tend to either ignore or just not care for. A new installment should carry it up towards innovation and creativity; this current Gen did not do much for either of the two and has taken it down a few pegs.

Hmm. Off the top of my head, it would be: Twilight. Avatar. My Little Pony. Call of Duty. Fifa. Justin Bieber. Every reality TV show ever made. Every talent hunt show ever made. Chocolate.

Horror movies: Most of them tend to focus on violence and shock horror and too few actually feel genuinely scary. My friend recently tried to make me watch Final Destination 5, and I told him I wont like it, because it's not scary, it's just people getting killed in gruesome ways. I don't like "torture porn".

To which he responded: "You should watch SAW or Hostel than..." /facepalm

Horror games don't bother me as much. The only horror games I can't play are FMV games like Phantasmigoria and Harvester. There's no uncanny valley in those, your basically watching death scenes from a horror movie when you fail (or in Harvester's case, win). But Silent Hill, Amnesia, any recent horror game, they can show as gruesome a death as they like and I can watch it, because of that uncanny valley effect.

Funny thing is: I found a certain scene in The Walking Dead: Episode 2 (at the beginning, in the woods) harder to watch than some of the deaths in Dead Space... Hell the T-Rex in the SNES Jurassic Park was scarier than Dead Space, but now I'm ranting.

EDIT: Captcha: Chuck Norris... to the people still making those jokes... let it die. They were funny in high school, but not anymore

1. Avatar- great special effects, sucky story.
2. The majority of reality TV- This one goes without saying.
3. Twilight, and just about everything meant for tweens- So does this.

I loathe this song by the Chemical Brother when it was first release. The beat really irratate me!

Not only that people like it but my former friend from High School who hate dance music in general love this song from some bizzare reason! More annoyance to me as they insist I should like it too!

The X-Factor or any other kind of TV singing competition.

I don't get it and I never will get it.
The only time I liked this show was when the contestants sang in a silent room to 3 assholes who laughed at them. Now it's all on stage and is just a pile of rubbish.

They only produce a handful of decent singers and 9/10 they're all just a bunch of assholes!

Will Young & Leona Lewis were the only decent people to come out of these shows for Great Britain.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

It was hailed for its 'awesome' writing and original story. Not only was the game play clunky and annoyingly repetitive to me (I'm looking at you, 'crash the Star Destroyer' level), but I fail to see how using the main villains from the movies as the main villains in your particular story is at all 'original'.

Whether you like the movies or not, Star Wars was a self-contained story with antagonists and protagonists that had understandable relationships. The Force Unleashed just tried to glom onto that story by inserting its own protagonist- which (if you accept any of this as part of the 'canon' of the universe) completely destroys the original story.

And if you need a specific example of why I hate. Hate. HATE. this game, look at the final scene of the light-side ending. Without too many direct spoilers: After slaughtering your way through hundreds, if not thousands of beings to get to the 'big bad guy', you are told that if you kill him, you will become as bad as he is. Yeah. So, what about all those bazillions of guys I killed on the way. They somehow don't count? Great writing. Yeah.

My Little Pony. Haven't seen the show, but I loathe the fanbase.

Assassin's Creed. I don't particularly hate it, but I have a dislike for it as they are all so pathetically easy to play.

Butter. I just cant stand it. It wouldn't be half as bad I didn't get people going "You dont like butter? What?!" It tastes bad, and it's bad for you. The only 'advantage' it has is that it makes sandwiches less dry, but I tend to like dry sandwiches.

Hate. For the life of me I'll never understand the lengths some people will go to to ramble on about the things they don't care for.

Nothing.

Not that I don't hate things, even popular things, but there is nothing in the world that the majority of people like. Even the most popular things in the world might be liked by 2-5% of the human population, and you can bet they are hated by at least 5-10%, who are reacting to the the fandom with a hype backlash.

That Steve Hughes clip about being offended.

That comes up all the fucking time on the Escapist. It's a comedic side-stepping around a sensitive and complex issue, but people paint is as if it's simple simply because there's a Youtube clip about it.

Steve Hughes is not a substitute for a thoughtful retort. He's just a fucking comedian.

That is the only thing which gets me legitimately angry on these forums.

Will Ferrell. There is nothing in the least bit funny about that man. And Elf was one of the worst movies that I've been forced to sit through about 12 times.

Popular music...there is nothing good about it, along with reality TV, and shitty shows like New Girl, as the only reason people watch it is because the characters look pretty.

To turn this thread around on its head, I don't hate R&P, like I assume most people here do.
