speculation on this shit great, IMO it could be a crashed space craft, or it could be a natural formation

Treasure hunters in Sweden have discovered something at the bottom of the Blatic Sea, 87 metres below the surface.

What it is is a mystery as of a yet and it'll probably stay that way as the treasure hunters have little funding to actually go down there and check it out. All that people know now is that it's round and has an impact trail following it.

So, what do you think it is? A simple aircraft? A UFO? Cthulhu's frisbee?

87 meters? I'm pretty sure you can get that deep with diving equipment, assuming ur careful when you come back up to avoid the bends. It shouldn't be that expensive at all
max 40 meters with normal diving equipment. And that's for super advanced divers. Max 10-20 minutes as well.
Sooo.... you would need a sub or some very expensive special diving equipment.

Exactly. The deepest submersible on the first link I found could dive to 5000 metres [http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/world/archives/2011/07/27/2003509265].

If there were anything to this story then it'd have been quickly found out. Looks to me like yet another researcher trying to drum up some support for a study that didn't actually find anything significant on its own merits.

Something having to do with Cthulhu, anyway.

The resemblance is uncanny...
Hahahaha! I'm also willing to go with this.

Aside: It seems strange that it ended up in what looks to be Sweden's version of the National Enquirer.

This is madness.

On an RP forum a year or two back, my friend did a spoof Norwegian Stargate Program...with the gate being found in the Baltic.

DISK. BALTIC.

Obviously my friend can tell the future. <__<

Actually, you wouldn't need one.

...what? A man can dream of being able to travel faster than light.
Fingers crossed!

But seriously, I doubt that it will remain a mystery for long. We're human beings: we can't help but do dangerous, expensive things...

...FOR SCIENCE!

It can be nothing else but the Sphere from Michael Crichton's novel of that name. I'm positive of it.
And that would be awesome.

If, on the other hand, I hear about a flying rock later on doing battle with a giant lizard, I'm leaving the planet.

87M Damn, that is really deep. At 87m you would need to use Heli-Ox (Helium-Oxygen) as your main breathing gas, and open circuit would almost be out of the question. I do know a few guys that have dove to 100m with OC gear, but most of them dive with re-breathers at that depth now.

Slip Space Drives let you jump any were in galaxy instantaneously without relays.
The problem with that, is that you don't actually travel to the same galaxy. you switch places with a version of yourself in an alternate dimension at the desired location. The device isn't perfect, so the dimension only matches up 99.999999(etc.)% of the way. The result being, eventually, you won't recognize something in the place you've warped. Hence the discontinuation, and replacement with new "starslip" drives that are functionally identical to the ones Richardplex has suggested.

Without a scale listed, I can't really make an educated guess as to what it could be, but given it's circular nature, my guess would be an abandoned diving bell. 87 meters isn't THAT far down, and seems reasonable in my opinion. It could also be a rather large whale skull.
Is this actual science or something from a game? If it is real, could you link me an article please?

Lets hope not. Humanity is not ready for that kind of power.
