I wake up every week-day at 4:35 A.M. I get dressed, brush my teeth, shower, eat some breakfast, browse on the web and watch T.V. until about 5:45ish and then walk to Church for an hour of Early-Morning Seminary. From there I get a ride to school from a friend (with a very awsome 4.6 liter V8 2010 Ford Mustang I might add) and he typically will blast some Rap or R&B or Dubstep, none of these of which I listen too normally (60's Rock n' Roll and Classic Metal for me) and today, he played a Dubstep song that horrified and shocked me to the core.
A song called Hero from an artist that I can't remember (who could anyway with these rediculous names for these "artists") and it was a dubstep rendition of the Hero Of Time... you know... the one theme from Legend of Zelda that you think of EVERY TIME you think of Legend of Zelda.
As soon as the main "chorus" (if you could call it that) started, I recognized it immediately and promptly shouted, as the abominable screech of what sounded like an epileptic transformer tried to convince itself as a piece of music from one of the greatest gaming tracks off all time invaded my ears. "Oh wow! Do you know what this is?" Everyone in the car of course, responded with a quiet no. "This is the Zelda theme! Who would do this?" One of my most nostalgiac and happy memories of my childhood seemed like it was being tortured.
They responded with "I don't know, sounds cool to me."
I replied with a disappointed tone "Really?"
Look, I may be overreacting a bit, I can respect the opinion of one liking this... wub wub... (though it confuses and enrages) and I understand that people do need a way to make a living but this??
*sigh* Anyway, what, Escapists, have you seen that has gone from being something you have loved, to being abused and ripped-off of in this modern generation?
