Digimon, man, Digimon. Particularly Digimon Tamers (that's season three of Digimon), my favorite of all the -mon series.

Zoids was an awesome show, but when your trying to build the models it is very time consuming.

I used to be an epic Yu Gi Oh (Don't really care if that's how you spell it) dueler. Yeah, I know how cool I am, you don't have to tell me.
I actually enjoyed that game right up until everyone stopped playing, it was fun....don't judge me.
Yu-Gi-Oh is probably the one I enjoyed the most as well, and I dunno about it being dead, since I visited a hobby store in December last year and there were still tournaments of it going on. But then, that was nearly a year ago.

And bollocks to the whole thing being a children's card game (I blame 4Kids), because I've seen many 30-40 year olds play the game and enjoy it as well, and no-one there really cared. But I guess that's because the game seemed to have a more hobby-like side to it rather than just being another one of those fads. At least it did to me.

And for the record, this [http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/9296/ancientgeargolem.jpg] was probably my favourite card. It just screamed of brutality.
Yu-Gi-Oh was always fun, until everyone ditched it for the next best thing. I still get my deck out every once and a while for nostalgia; same for Pokemon. I recently looked at some of the new cards they have out, and the whole game is completely screwed up now. Utterly ruined.
And for the record, you weapon of choice is by far the most broken card I have ever seen. EVER.

Zoids was the ultimate in AWESOME.

Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh and Crush Gear Turbo were sweet.

No judgement here. I still have a bucket of those cards in my basement, I think.
My brother and I had over a thousand 0.o. I still remember my favourite card:

This card kicks so much arse.

Beyblade. How the fuck did tops become a fad? I had like three.
I like to call it Battle Dreidels!

OP: I remember some show called Monster Hunter which was a terrible rip-off of Poke'mon, never watched it really.
Actually, the horrible Pokemon knock-off you're thinking of is Monster Rancher. Monster Hunter is actually a pretty awesome video game series where you kill monsters with an over-sized sword and make weapons and armor out of their body parts. You gotta love dragon-scale armor! But, no, Monster Rancher sucks, and Monster Hunter rocks.

On topic, I always liked the Digimon TV series better than the Pokemon TV series. Digimon just had more personality to it, told an ongoing story without much filler, and had villains that were actually good. By good, I mean evil psychopaths. The Pokemon video games were better than the Digimon video games, though.

When I was in elementary and apart of Middle it was all about Pokemon!

High school it was about Yu-gi-oh (yeah I played yu-gi-oh in high school big woof, wanna fight about it?!)

Now...I don't know what's "in", but I"m still a pokemon fan plus it was around the 90's when I got into it the Golden Age of cartoon's, games and anime.

God the 90's ruled!

For a while everyone was trying to jump on the Poke'mon bandwagon by making their own shows where small children tell animals/robots/other to fight each other. What was your favorite of these shows?
Mine was Medabots as robots are always awesome, you don't feel like a bad person for watching robots tear each other apart and the main robot was an angry sarcastic self absorbed jerk.
YES!
Metabots was DA BOMB!
sigh...i also kinda like....Bakugan.
The 2nd season is better.
Much better!

digimon was far better than pokemon... the tv series had a pretty epic story with a goal which kept you gripped.

pokemon was just the same every episode with interchangable retarded creatures. and dont get me started on team fucking rocket. so annoying with that stupid catchphrase.

if you're talking about the games though, then the pokemon games were epic.

medabots was the best TV series by far though!

I used to love such shows, but I now object to them on principle. How can all these children justify having little animals or spirits or robots do their bidding? I say, if you want to fight, send away your pets, put down your cards, pull our your swords, and settle this like men!

Or you could play a round of Go [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikaru_no_Go]. That's acceptable too.

Still, despite my objection to monster battle games, I love them, and I long to reconcile my disparate feelings. One day I will create a game where you play as a pet monster who breaks free of his captors and leads a monster rebellion. You have the choice of becoming equal to humans or enslaving humanity.
