The GOTY thing will always get people up in arms about something or other. I watched the GOTY awards on GameTrailers (who also happen to be xbox fanboys) and they also chose MW2 as game of the year (suprisingly enough).

The funny thing is they also chose it as the best 360 and PS3 game (Over Uncharted 2 as best PS3 game). Surely seeing as though they are different consoles, the console specific GOTY should be an exclusive, not a multiplatform game. It's probably me being too picky.

Meh, one GOTY award or even four or five is pointless.

When your game picks up fifty plus, then you're onto something. Anything that can make the gaming press at large agree with each other is generally pretty special (The only ones I can think of with hauls that big are Half Life/2 and Modern Warfare).

Mine was Dragon Age.

I'd back you with that, although, MW2 is in second for me, since the story was awesome (not neccesarily realistic, but if I want realism, i'd go outside) and the multiplayer is fun.

HE has some valid complaints, most noticeable the continuing characters thing. You could literally call any game "Final Fantasy #" and its a sequel that will be praised. The games don't have much in relation to each other, except a few common story and universe themes.

Wait, why is that a valid complaint? It's not an outright fabrication, sure, but it's not exactly a "fault". It's not particularly true, either, since there have been a few direct sequels to FF games. Really, I don't quite understand how a self-contained story is a bad thing, especially when it's becoming more common for games to intentionally leave plotlines unresolved to try and make more people buy the sequel.

Yeah, the MW2 campaign was one of the best 7-8 hours I've ever had as a gamer, just a pity it wasn't a little longer.

I gave up on the multi at level 63, it just wasn't fun anymore. Back to COD4!
