So I was listening to a couple albums recently and I had an idea. What if an album by a band was turned into an entire video game?

Here's a couple examples I had...

Lateralus-Tool; Could be a cool lovecraft ispired tale about a man going down deep insanity (almost maybe the new game by Gullermo Del Torro?)

Any album-Coheed and Cambria; Since every album is about two characters named Coheed and Cambria, both with amazing powers, wouldn't a video game following the story be pretty cool?

Danger Days-My Chemical Romance; Duke nukem-inspired comedy shooter about a group called 'the fabulous killjoys' who try to take down a spontanious evil company? Count me in!

Any other ideas? Post them!

Holy Diver by Dio, or Killswitch Engage if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not entirely sure what it would be about but damn would it be glorious.

I think Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere in the Between" album would work for a game, probably a rpg or action-adventure game. I'm not really sure why it does, but whenever I listen to the album it makes me imagine the lyrics fitting into a game or movie.

I think that would be pretty cool. Kinda a horror-ish game?

"The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" by The Beatles.

You play as Bill, who rides on top of an Elephant with his mother, in search of Feral Tigers. For the first 2/3rds of the game, you fight Tigers, with more and more of them coming and them being more and more vicious. You have to defend your elephant and (especially) your mother from said Tigers. The last Tiger you fight is the hardest one to fight, and it takes Several shots to take down.

The last third of the game, however, is our poor hero Bill being asked by the Children if murdering the Tigers was just, and you go up to a secluded area (probably where you started) to pray. The last part of the game is continually climbing up a mountain and reaching salvation for all the tigers you've killed.

Your High score is then posted on Xbox Live/Playstation Network.

Maybe like a FPS that happens during WWI with light horror elements like in The Darkness only less gory

Moon8 by Brad Smith/ Pink Floyd -- In case you don't know, it's the music from Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon played using 8-bit sounds. I'm not sure about a videogame based off of the original (something based off of the life of a human, probably?), but I would love to see a similar idea in 8-bit style.

I'm also going to cheat and say Quadrophenia by The Who. I would say Tommy as the much more popular rock opera, but it's kind of hard to base a worthwhile videogame experience off of a deaf and blind kid without sounding like you belong at certain conventions [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escapist-news-network/1841-Snobcon-2010].

I can't think of any specific songs. Possibly There is a War Going on for Your Mind by Flobots, but more just out of a likening for the song than myself thinking that it would make a good videogame.

I'm astounded none of Rhapsody of Fire's albums have been turned into RPGs. The Emerald Sword Saga is practically structured like one.

Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian... oh wait...

Pretty much any power metal song would be good for me.

2 Days or Die by Atlas Plug. I think it would be good as a soundtrack to any game that made sure it fit well. Crackdown already used some of it.

There between the eight suns
right before the system Hazor
shines the silent planet
Alkor Zephyr is its name
Surface made of magma
of wide oceans and volcanos
middle dusty regions where
no trace of life is found
From the space an ancient secret
soon will mark this old world

In the southern region
live the people of Iraklia
descendants of peaceful
ancient dynasty of Lor
Between these a warrior
destined to become the victim
victim of a prophecy
now lost between the stars
He will be the astral rider
prophecy's new fighter

FROM THE DUST
OF A TIME NOW FORGOTTEN
IT WILL COME THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS
AS THE LEGEND OF THE ANCIENTS
REVEALED WITH ITS WORDS
IT WILL COME FROM THE BLOODY DIMENSION
WHERE DEATH IS A PRESENT FROM GOD
HE'LL FACE THE SACRIFICED ONE
THE RIDER WHO OWNS...
WHO OWNS THE ASTRAL FIRE!

Arkan is the name of thunder
prophecy's new fighter

FROM THE DUST
OF A TIME NOW FORGOTTEN
IT WILL COME THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS
AS THE LEGEND OF THE ANCIENTS
REVEALED WITH ITS WORDS
IT WILL COME FROM THE BLOODY DIMENSION
WHERE DEATH IS A PRESENT FROM GOD
HE'LL FACE THE SACRIFICED ONE
THE RIDER WHO OWNS...
WHO OWNS THE ASTRAL FIRE!

Prophet of the Last Eclipse deserves to be a video game and a movie. It's a fantastic album with a story that is told from it's lyrics. I'm surprised no one has picked up on it, it even has a robot/cyborg blasting aliens/demons on it's cover!
