Well I say nothing beats the Overture to 2112 by Rush.
except maybe Fight Fire With Fire by Metallica.
or possibly the gnarly intro to Honor Thy Father by Dream Theater.

Mastodon's Oblivion intro is amazing, as is Number of the Beast and so many Iron Maiden tunes,
