According to Winamp it's a bunch of Alcest, Warbringer, and Tallest Man On Earth.
Huh.

As far as listening goes, no matter how much I love something if I listen to it enough times, audio fatigue will set in, and it really ruins the song for a long while for me.
Some songs I can't ever listen to again because of extreme cases of this from when I was younger.
My friend's a Tallest Man on Earth fan, and I got him into the Mountain Goats.

Which is also an answer:

Besides that, this character theme I keep posting everywhere:

A lot of Nightwish's stuff comes close. It's just heavy enough for me to enjoy regardless of mood, but not so heavy that it gets exhausting and starts to blur into a noise after extended sessions *cough*AvengedSevenfold*cough*. The one and only song that I could listen to forever on an infinite loop, though, is this:
I mean, I just went to Youtube to grab the link and I ended up watching the whole video again. The same one that I've watched enough times to be able to make a shot-for-shot remake from memory, and recite not only every lyric, but every note played by every instrument in the song. It's that freaking good.
Dammit... Now I have to go buy the album. I can't get it out of my head. I have always liked Nightwish, but I have never bothered to pick up any of their albums. I usually just run across them on Youtube, listen a few times, say, "Damn, that's not bad," and move on. No longer! XD

I have been known to listen to these two songs on repeat for ridiculous amounts of time. I can't get over the vocals. They are absolutely epic, and, like the above, it's just heavy enough not to turn into noise after enough time has passed. To be honest, I have yet to get sick of the band as a whole as well. I have been known to rotate between their albums in my car and not listen to much else. :p

This one is kind of my song. I don't know why, but something about it... Just awesome... I can't not listen to it!

Also on my repeat playlist!

All songs will tire me out when played repeatedly, but some songs take a LOT of replays to reach that status.
For me? There's this:

and most recently? This theme song from this one TV show:

An Die Freude will never get old for me. I have an over-the-top dramatic version and an synth-based vocoder-sung version, two contrasting takes on the venerable song which will keep my interest in the song itself piqued forever.

Sad Song by the Cars. Dunno why, that song just clicks with me. Forces by Susumu Hirasawa is another that I can listen to indefinitely. In fact, mostly anything by Susumu Hirasawa.

I, like so many others, get burned out fairly quickly if I hear the same thing too often. There are however a few songs that I have yet to get sick of despite listening to hundreds of times:
And then, bizarrely, there is this:

Yes, it's a relatively new release and no, I don't understand what it's doing on this list either.
Kind of a strange list and it only gives you a very incomplete picture of my music tastes but whatever.

I find I get bored of most modern stuff pretty quickly. There are a few songs I can always listen to.
Simon and Garfunkel's sound of silence is one (see above)

Other than that, I am a big fan of David Bowie, and there are a few of his I could just have on repeat all day.
I can always listen to these, especially the last one.

The Mountain Goats have a couple of great songs that I always come back to.

Somebody ninja'd 'This Year' so I've picked a different one. It's filled with delicious lo-fi.

Coincidentally, I found the Mountain Goats through the TV show Weeds which is a show I never get tired of watching.

Oh gosh, I just found this song again after so long and I remember how much I enjoyed it. I listened to it for 5 hours nonstop a few days ago and I keep coming back to it.

It's just so fucking happy! If I start lipping the chorus I immediately smile.

And if I'm listening to that, then I'm probably also listening to this alongside it.

I've been really into electronic music so here's some of favorites:

Strobe is a personal favorite because it makes you sit through a 5minute buildup, really good example of how anything great is made better if it builds up anticipation.

I suppose I wouldn't mind listening to For Whom the Bell Tolls on S&M for eternity. Especially if I could watch the video.

YAY!

A thread to post my favorite music!

*Ahem*

Gets me in a dragon-slaying mood.
Not quite sure what I like about this one. I guess it's the whole circus theme goin' on.
It's Cowboy Bebop. No questions.
"What does Fooly Cooly mean?"
"How am I suppose to know?! I'm still in grade school!!"
Sonic Generations is pure nostalgia for me.
A Safety Dance AMV. What's not to like?

But my #1 favorite song of all time is this. It just sounds so beautiful.
I was so happy when Atlus made it the theme for the new boss in Golden.

I could listen to this song forever. When I listen it makes me feel at peace, in touch with my spiritual side, like their is something more and I'm amazed this song does that. 'Wonder' is the word I'd use to sum up how it makes me feel.

And to think it comes from a show most people will dismiss because of it's name even though it's one of the best things I've ever seen on television. I suspect because of the nature of these forums as more nerd-centric more people might understand why I love this show/the music of this show (dear god the music) so much. :)

(Just barely) the best song on the best album of one of the best bands I have ever heard. Annihilation of the Wicked as an entire album is almost flawless. An entire album I will never tire of.
